Just to clairify xreas and spacer/fj springs?

Hey guys. Just picked up a 4th gen due to need of extra elbow space, and new baby. Coming from 3rd gen; see sig.

I plan on switching my spidertrax wheel spacer and wheels and tires to the 4th gen.

I also have xreas all around. I plan on only 2'' lift in the front and make it .75'' (roughly) to the rear.

My question is. Can I fit fj springs with xreas shock? or I'm absolutely only able to add a spacer lift, with them.

Id like to get new shocks like the 5100 I had on my 3rd gen but. Money is tight at the moment. And the xreas is not leaking. Then again most dont think about lifts even before they really get to drive the vehicles. I researched it a month before.

Ill post an official New to me 4th gen soon after I lift it a bit and detail the whole truck. It was not well cared for but definitely a diamond in the rough.

Yes, you can run FJ springs with the XREAS. As long as you don't swap out the shocks, XREAS won't be affected.

you can add springs, but don't disconnect the shock from the system

Is there enough space to compress the spring and remove and replace with the lines connected to the shock?

Anyone performed this before? Ride quality and lift amount on a v8?

You can disconnect the struts from the truck. Just make sure there's no weight on the wheels. Put it on a lift, or jack stands, and you can see where the XREAS line connects to a fitting on the frame. Take it loose from there and little to no fluid should come out.

You can do the install with the XREAS lines connected. My first lift consisted of FJ coils and a 1" spacer. FJ coils will give about 1/2" lift. Ride quality is better than stock, just overall smoother and less roll in the turns.

Did you used the stock struts with xreas? Im afraid it will ride too sough due to topping out the preload of teh oem strut length.

Plus I hate using the spring compressors. with no air tools.. Takes forever.

Yes, stock shocks but swapped coils for FJs. It's not enough lift to cause a noticeable loss of travel. The ride was improved over stock.

You can use this method to avoid having to use a spring compressor.
