Just traded in my FJ Cruiser for a 2015 Trail Premium

Thanks for those pics! - I have been trying to decide on a cargo basket for a while and the Canyon is on the "short list".

I am trying to figure out if I can do a "low profile" mount with this basket - could you help me out with this? Are the lower bars actual narrower in stance from the top bars? Could you take a head-on picture from either the front or back? I'd like to fab up a low profile mount like this

I'll take some more pictures once I get the rack mounted with my new Thule Aerobar Edge crossbars, hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday. The rack is definitely narrower than the factory rails, though--you should have no problem with a low profile mount. It's pretty low even with the factory rails, and I'm thinking that the rack may actually look better sitting on the slightly raised Edge bars ... but we'll see.

Congratz, beautiful Runner. My brother has an FJ and me the 4Runner, both are fun but I can see much better in the Runner while driving.

Did you get the truck around a month ago? I was eyeing one same color same model at that same dealership while looking for mine and I was about to drive down from SF but found a deal on one here. At the time it was the only one I could find in CA.

Yes, I'm sure it was the same. Hard to find the Trail Premium in CA from what I could tell. Part of what motivated me was the dealership saying they were getting ready to trade this one to another dealership for a customer who wanted a different model. They claimed that the only way to get a 4Runner from another dealer was to have one you could trade.

They were not lying to you! That must have been a friend of mine at a local dealer trying to get it for me but they were giving a lot of push back because they knew they had a gem. I ended up getting a deal on a Toyota Executive driven Trail in Silver, it had 5000 miles on it but it had never been registered and pretty much just highway driven between dealerships. I got more than a dollar per mile off on a truck that no one would even consider bargaining with me at the time so I was happy, plus I didn’t pay for all the options it had (Remote start, factory clear bra and convenience package). I wanted a trail premium but figured I could live without the sunroof.

I am very happy with the truck and I feel a little better knowing the one I had my sights on went to someone who will treat it right.

Less than a month old and already changed out lighting inside and out, added N-fab sidesteps, tires are on the way and a Gobi order is about to happen, this forum is evil\costly!

I also traded my 2012 F J for a 2015 4Runner. The next day I was back at the dealer and the F J was just where I left it out front. I was so, so sad. BUT I do like the 4Runner and it is growing on me more and more. It just needs some mods like I had on the F J. Front bumper, roof rack, different shocks. All in good time. The shocks and bumper are ordered. But still the wait for them to get here. The bumper may take till August. Hope the shocks get here sooner.

Here are a few more shots with the Thule Canyon (with extension) mounted via the t-track slot to Aeroblade Edge bars (7503). I'm pretty happy with the results...this rack and bar combo seems to be a pretty good compromise between weight, strength, and aerodynamics.
