Katzkin Leather

So...paid my 4Runner off last week and to celebrate I did my first real mod. I have had this in mind since I bought my '16 Trail. I am not a fan of a sunroof, I know lots of people love them and that's great, just not my cup of tea. But, I really love leather in my rides, so I decided to get the regular Trail version with cloth seats and I would upgrade to leather later down the road.

Well, I had the Katzkin leather installed yesterday at my Toyota Dealer, same price as all the other quotes I got so I decided to go through them.

Leather Choice was Dark Graphite, with Red Stitching to match the red stitching that comes with the Trail. Also had seat heaters installed.

Next up is the wheels, ordered a set of FN FX Pro Matte Black wheels, should be here next week!

Then I will start saving and researching suspension lifts, 3" lift with some 285's.

How much did it set you back? Does Katzkin use real leather or that leatherette junk that is used by they auto industry now.

Yeah i may do this to my beloved 13 TE. Had to have the TE so gave up the chance at leather.

Have the same thing in mine and love it. Only Trail dealer had left was one without leather said I would come back which means Ill check other dealers. He added the Katz no extra charge with heaters and gave me way over what I wanted for trade to make the deal happen. Very happy with my leather seats. Looks Great OP

I was in the same boat about not caring about the sunroof. I also got a much better deal on a non premium TRD OR. I plan to do leather seats as well but wanted to have some perforation in the leather.

Thanks yall! I am loving it so far.

The leather installed set me back $1,400. Other quotes I was getting in my area of Texas ranged from $1,400 to $1,700.

And yes, it is real leather on the seating surfaces and vinyl in the other areas, but not 100% sure about that.

Looks great. I had put Katzkins in my 2010 Tacoma. I had the dark graphic with the center being a light gray and TRD embroidered on front seats. Finished it off the red stitchingamd It was tits. Oh and I added the Liquicell and seat warmers. I miss it. I maybadded it one day if the Softex wears out

The leather looks great. Worth the price too. Did that include the back seats as well? Vinyl mixed with leather is a good choice. It's easier to clean the back and sides if it's vinyl.
If you're going to lift it 3" consider wider rims so you can add bigger tires. Those TRD rims are only 7" wide, IIRC. The TE rims you have are 7.5" wide. I just installed 285/70R17 Falken AT3W tires on ICON 17x8.5" rims. The same size rims from SCS are a good choice too.

They look great, love the red stitching and better than OEM. I have seen other Katzkin leather seats at dealerships and they are always very nice looking.

I've said it before but since it has it's own thread now... the Katskins I had installed on my 2013 was nicer than the factory leather on my current limited. It's thicker, fits better, and overall of higher quality.

Nice! Katzkin Leather is amazing. Mine still looks mint and it was installed in 2011. It's also very durable and easy to repair. Give it a little Lexol to clean/condition it every once in a while and it's perfect. Highly recommended upgrade.

We plan on doing the same, we went with a tan interior this time around with cloth, so once it gets thrashed we will do the leather and it will be like a new car!

I had the same thing done to my '17 ORP right when I bought it. It already came with SofTex seats obviously, but I wanted ventilation in addition to the heaters. Went through my dealer because I wanted all the work covered under their warranty. I got Katzkin perforated leather front & back rows (black with red stitching) plus heated/ventilated front seats for a little over $3K. I couldn't be happier with the results! The leather is comfortable, durable, and the ventilation works great. Very minimal fan noise even when on the highest setting. See attached photos - you can just barely see the switches they used in the first pic. They are dual momentary buttons with 3 levels of heat, 3 levels of fan. Tiny LEDs light up red or blue depending on which you have engaged...really slick looking!

That looks super nice. Those switches look nice too - close enough to OEM most people probably wouldn't even give it a second thought.

How much did heat and cool add? I was quoted $1400 installed for just the leather.
