great trip!

i visited Big Bend years ago and was absolutely awestruck. packs of javelinas scurrying through the Chisos Basin... hiking out to The Window... standing on the shore of the Rio Grande... Terlingua... i'd love to go back in my 4Runner one day

What maps or website do you use to figure out the Big Bend trails? Did you go into the State park next to the National park? My wife and I frequent the Big Bend area but have not done too much wheeling. We are planning a trip this spring. Thanks

Unfortunately, we didn't have time to visit the state park. The national park actually really easy to get around. The primitive roads are all mapped out and well marked.
There are some great backcountry camp sites as well. You really don't need a GPS for navigation.....maybe just to know we're you are. Just go to ,Panther junction and get a good map, then let the ranger know what you want to do and they'll help you with a route.

We did:

-Old Ore Rd
-Glenn Springs Rd
-Black Gap Rd
-River Rd East
-Old Maverick Rd

These roads are fairly mild. All but black gap are accessable by ordinary car and on most we didn't even need 4wd. but you can't beat the vastness, beauty, and solitude.

Nice video! It is things like this video and reading all the posts here on T4R.org that are going to make the wait for my truck intolerable! :)
 
I replaced my OEM fogs with Morimo LEDs. I like the look and output is great. They should help out nicely on the trail as well.

Can I get some beta on that route? I've never heard of it before and that looks like just my style. Also never really been to that part of the world and kind of been wanting to check it out while I am down here in Houston, it isn't all that far away. (compared to Colorado)

How has the Warn M8000 winch been treating you? I've been looking for a winch and have my heart set on the M8000-S, but the M8000 is right there at the 1.5X vehicle weight when loaded with gear, armor, etc.

How did you mount the stock fogs in the bumper? I've got a 4th gen with the shrockworks, was hoping I could see how you built the mount.
