KDSS more comfortable?

Apparently 2 trolls ITT

The springs with and without dynamic suspension are different, but this is totally pointless to their claim that they handle the same - they don't. KDSS uses a heavier sway bar, that by itself will make it handle differently even without the KDSS system impacts. Anyone who says that a heavier sway bar doesn't impact vehicle handling and dynamics is either a troll or should be ignored in regards to anything suspension related.

Just go test drive both models if you cant understand the basics

They all suck compared to the 19+ pro

Adding my 2cnts. Went from a 16' Trail to a 19' ORP w KDSS and will say that handling / lean is definitely an improvement as the system is designed. On road ride "quality" or comfort to me might actually be a step backwards. The 19' w KDSS the ride feels stiffer / less forgiving and you get more feedback from the road surface. While I like that feel on a sports type performance car, Id rather have a bit more dampening on a 4x4. Tires are p rated Michelin AT2 stock size

Do you have proof of the different shocks and spring rates? The part catalog only shows 2 parts, sport or non sport. There's no separate option for KDSS vehicles. There is a noob option though so I suspect that's only equipped on your Runner.

Hey *****ass noob,
Maybe your assumption of what is sport vs nonsport was wrong? Noob.

All info posted came from: camelbacktoyota.com

Listed below are the Trail, then the SR5 respectfully.
The KDSS have different shocks than the non-KDSS.

Not according to the ramp travel index ;D

Let's not forget the orig TRD PRO had KDSS removed due to cost.

But ya ideally I'd like the shocks and ride height of PRO with the travel and handling of KDSS. The Fox shocks are sweet.

And this has devolved into pointless name calling over factory springs and shocks that most of us would agree could be much much better.

Besides we all know the Limited is the best. FTW. :)

Hey *****ass noob,

That's a funny way of spelling KDSS.

Tell us what's really wrong dude. Did a noob show you up and now you just call everyone a noob or did you just swallow too much KDSS fluid?

I know the kdss is from and they might've made improvements but you're wrong unless you prove otherwise. [emoji12]

I do agree that kdss plus the fox set up would be killer.

Nice article. But, but, but, it's an Unlimited Rubicon. :fencing:

"What really surprised us though was how well the JL performed in the sand dunes and on fast two-track roads, situations where the Wrangler was at a distinct disadvantage in the past. The JL still couldn’t keep up with the 4Runner TRD Pro in these situations, but the gap definitely got much smaller than it has been in the past."

Tries to use technical jargon but still fails.... lol

In automotive technician world it's referred as thicker sway bars not heavier sway bars but a spit shine as yourself would know that.

People also assume that a larger diameter bar means that it is stiffer when really it could be the same stiffness if the material thickness is lower. But hey, people that can't think are quick to resort to name call and send PMs. Turd genners are like that which is why TW sucks now.

What i see here is people mad because they didn't buy a KDSS equipped 4Runner, so they now talk shit.

95%+ of the time, the KDSS equipped 4Runner is going to result in a better feeling ride.

Having had 5thGen 4Runners with and without, I can say that the KDSS equipped 4Runner is head an shoulders a better ride than without, which is why I am in another one with it, and I believe it kept me from flipping when I had to swerve to avoid a tire carcass from an 18 wheeler that blew a tire ahead of me, because the KDSS helps negate body roll at higher speeds.

And a thicker sway bar is also heavier, and I seen them referred to as such, and some are even called heavy duty sway bars.

Not going to engage in name calling, but with my experiences over the ownership of 3 5th Gen 4Runners, no one can offer any proof that KDSS is not worth it for the vast majority of uses.

Yea, you are limited to 3' lift (until someone comes up with either linkage to accommodate the extra lift, of some other kind of adapter), but even in the world of lifting, its not common to see more than 3" of lift on a 5th Gen 4Runner.
If you want a highly lifted rock crawler, there are already better options for vehicles than the 4Runner.

"Heavier" was good enough for an A- in vehicle dynamics in college and for a respectable college race team (which isnt surprising since heavier makes sense if you know what you're talking avout), stop trolling. And lmao at thinking an auto tech knows anything about suspension setup, lol.

Ultimately it's an easy argument to conclude: drive both, they handle very differently

We both have KDSS equipped Runners. :lmao:

KDSS is locked up at high speeds so it's just standard sway bar operation. Maybe it is stiffer but idk.

Thanks. Actual user proof instead of just calling people noobs and trolls.

Those E credentials.

That's all that needed to be said. I don't really think you understand what troll actually means.
