i asked my tech and he did try to get the valve core out of the stem but said it was corroded in there and couldnt get loose. he said now that i have the sensor he will try it again, that way if it breaks or still cant get it out he will just replace the sensor, but lets hope he gets the core out and i can send the sensor back to Toyota

I would squirt some WD-40 penetrate oil in the valves, let sit a day and try again.

I grounded my module so my light will never go on. hence after market wheels i plan on buying wont need the sensors.

no valve core per Toyota...??

does anyone have a Toyota part number for the valve core replacement kit? Toyota is telling me it it does not exist and i need the whole new valve and sensor. I want to try and replace the core first, cuz thats where its leaking...???

another idea

This thread is old, but I ran into a similar issue but found it to be something different from most cases.

A couple of my tires showed no sign of puncture or any other leak. Took them to a tire shop had the guy remove the tires and inspect them. (keep in mind when i bought my runner it had decent tires and I have not changed them since buying) When he took the tires off, you could see an unusual amount of buildup where the tire meets the rim. The rim was caked with gunk that would slowly let air leak. I would fill up to 40 PSI and in a couple of weeks the tires would be down to the 20s. He wire brushed the rims and filed off all the gunk, now I have a proper seal.


Granted this only applies to those who have bought thier 4R used and havent changed the tires since.
