Keeping rear cargo liner in place, any tricks?

I had the dealer put in a Toyota rear cargo liner when I bought my '17. Looks great and does the job but every time I go to pull something out the back, the whole liner comes with it and slides out. There's nothing securing it in place and it's starting to become a hassle. I thought of putting some velcro on the bottom to stick to the carpet but wanted to check in to see if anyone has had the same trouble and possibly a solution.

I just keep moving it back.

If you have a sliding deck it is really bad. I have and love the deck but omfg the rubber cover is all over the place. I did install the canvas back covers and it was the same. At least it didn't get any worse.

If you use the stick on Velcro it will come off when your truck heats up in the summer. It will then make a huge mess. If you do Velcro, sew, screw or pop rivet it on.

I had the same annoying thing happening. I just put up the cargo hooks and cut a little tab out from the factory cargo tray and it stays great.

Two things I did that helped but not a total fix are.
Wash the bottom with a good degreaser.
Rough up the bottom real good. I took mine and rubbed it across my rough concrete patio.

These things made a huge difference but not a total solution.

the industrial strength velcro (or maybe it was called heavy duty) adhesive can take the heat, i have my scangauge velcro'd to my headliner and it hasn't even fallen down on washboarded roads. it made it through last summer without getting soft without any problems

Yep. That's what I use and don't have a problem with adhesion. This is in Virginia with a black 4Runner.

I removed the front tie downs (pop the cover up with a screwdriver exposes the 10 mm bolt) and then positioned the liner cutouts over the square hole and then pinned it with the tie down assembly. I found the 10mm bolts a bit short so Toyota gave me a couple 1/2” longer. I spaced the bottom of the tie down assembly with 3-4 small washers so the whole thing looking level.
