Well boys, I think I may have found her. Found this beauty at a dealer in Paris. Just got back from driving it. Ran great. Engine felt real strong and transmission shifted perfect. Everything on it works. Little rust underneath, but that's to be expected. It all looked like surface rust though. Nothing too alarming.

Welp, I think it's an average deal. I like limited models but I'm not a fan of leather interior. To each his own. I would check that frame. These rigs have full box frames so be sure to check for rot. Check for the last time the timing belt was done too.

Yeah leather wasn't my first choice, but I love everything else about it. The rust didn't seem horrible from what I could tell. Hopefully there isn't more than I could see. Even if there is, this isn't going to be my only vehicle, so it can undergo surgery if need be.

Well boys, she's home! Went and bought it last night. So far I haven't found any issues with it other than the ebrake not working. Drives awesome, all power features work. Still trying to do my research and learn more about all the things it does. Messed with the 4wd a little last night. Everything seems to work as it should. Dash lights come on when the 4wd button is engaged, and go off when the button is out to show it's in 2wd. Looking forward to start buying parts for it :thumb:

In due time.
Keeping it stock for at least a couple months. I'm getting married on Oct. 12th, and as long as I don't have any issues out of it, we'll be driving the 4runner on the honeymoon to South Carolina. After that, the modding will begin.
Couple little odd and end things I wanna do as well.
The tint on it is SUPER dark. So i'll probably have that re-done. New wipers. Random things like that.
Overall I'm very satisfied with it so far.

Ah nice! Congrats to you as well!
Yeah rolling the rear window down helps. The rear side windows are still an issue though. I'm worried how it will be in rainy conditions and such.
I'm at least going to remove the windshield strip. With how far it goes down, and how tall I am. It feel like I have about 10 inches of windshield to see through.

Got gas today for the first time. From just under 1/4 tank it took 12 gallons for $43, and averaged 17.8 mpg. Much better than what I was expecting!
Also drove it to Richmond and back today to show it to one of my friends. It drives awesome on the interstate. As long as there are no issues between now and the wedding, it's gonna make an awesome road trip vehicle.

Don't think I've seen it. I moved to Lexington from Richmond earlier this year but I still go there to visit friends frequently. I'll have to keep an eye out for them. I need more 4runner friends!

Any decent junkyards semi local other than pull a part in Louisville? I know of a few in Berea that are hit or miss. I just don't feel like driving to Louisville for a spare wheel honestly lol.

Not sure what's gonna happen with the 4runner at this point. Changed the oil in it today for the first time, and once we got it on the lift, the rust seems a lot worse than what I originally thought it was.
While taking off the skid plate to get to the oil filter, 6 of the 7 bolts broke, and now I don't have a front skid plate.
The frame is solid, and it doesn't look like there is any rot. Just enough surface rust to make removing any bolt nearly impossible.
At this point I don't know if I would even want to attempt installing a lift if just an oil change went so bad.
I love this thing and I don't want to get rid of it, but I'm so frustrated at this point that the thought of getting rid of it isn't sounding too bad. Mechanically this thing is awesome. Runs great. Still probably going to drive it to South Carolina next weekend after the wedding.
