Caught a dope modded 4th gen pulling out of a house on Waller Ave. a day or two ago. Black (Sport I think) had some big-ole tires and the spare mounted on the roof. Thing looked clean.

Just up the road in Lexington. It’s definitely clean. Working my way through basic maintenance and fluid changes right now. Cabin air filter and oil change done this weekend. Might tackle the differential and transfer case oil changes next weekend along with new spark plugs.

Unrelated to that, does anyone have experience with a Lexington shop who did a good job pressing wheel bearings? I need to replace my LCA bushings and might as well do the wheel bearings while I've got the front end torn apart.

I swear we live in a constant downpour, recently its rare to not have rain...
I can't say I've had work on my wheel bearings done anywhere. However I've been to Southside Auto (its off of Southland Dr, by the intersection of Nicholasville) the past couple times I needed work done, on the 4runner and the old car, and they do a solid job at a fair price. One time I took it in for a repair, they said they weren't able to get the job done without needing to order new parts. They didn't pressure me into ordering the new parts and before I could even say yes or no to continue the repair, they said they wouldn't charge me for the work already done since it wasn't fixed. Now that's standing by your word.

Hah, that's walking distance from my house. I've actually talked to them in the past about rebuilding struts and they wouldn't do it unless I bought the parts from them. The guy I talked to was friendly and said that they didn't want to run into warranty issues with people, which I understand.

haha thats ironic. They did mention that to me when I talked about some certain upgrades. He said he doesn't like installing parts customers bring in, bc he personally didn't want to guarantee his work and then it fail due to a bad part and hurt somebody somehow. I can respect that.
I'm actually gonna have to ask them if they'll install this spare assembly I just got off another member here. I'd tackle it myself but I've heard the seized bolts on the assembly on my truck need to be air chiseled or torched off in most cases... I don't have those tools here with me, nor the experience with them, to do that just yet.

I'd go but I'm limited to day trips at the moment.

Got out to Turkey Bay as we'd hoped to. Lots of people around this time with campers, side by sides, 4 wheelers, motorcycles, a Jeep bunch and even a few Tacomas etc. We didn't get into anything too wild, as it was my wife's 1st time off-road. Still had a couple nervous moments, but the weather was perfect with a nice breeze, trails a little muddy from rain the night before, and the lake was a bit full, so the lakeside trail was submerged in a few spots, though still passable.
No matter where we went, the 4Runner handled it with little effort. I'm getting the distinct feeling my vehicle is more capable off-road than its' driver! I'm still pretty new to all this myself, so that might be a good thing. Looking forward to more outings!View attachment 289901

Looks like fun. Even if it’s not hard stuff it feels good to just get out in the woods. I’m starting to get cabin fever and I spent all day in my backyard!
