I like them so far. Took them off-road once and they did great. It’s hard to make a direct comparison because I replaced a bad wheel bearing around the same time so I’m not sure how much of the bad ride beforehand was the old tires or the bearing. Definitely like the look though.

Kentucky Trail Ride

(This is a tangent but I would be absolutely fascinated to learn the inside story of how vehicle specs are determined. Any kind of behind-the-scenes stuff like that is interesting to me. For instance, there was a guy in a Land Cruiser at the Kentucky Toyota Trail Ride who works for the Toyota division that designs and installs interiors. They do work for a surprising range of clients ranging from other automakers to aircraft manufacturers and hearing about their operation was a nice bonus on an already awesome day.)

At the end of the day, any mod like this one comes down to risk + expense + time vs. reward. Water crossings like the ones in the Kentucky ride (they start 3:52 into the video) make me glad I did the breather mod. Those are as extreme as I’m likely to get into so I’m comfortable not pulling the breather back out to remove the plug.

New to me ‘08 V6 Limited 4x4 with XREAS.

First 4Runner but I’ve had a fistful of Tacoma’s and live in Louisville.

Looking for some mild mannered fun as it’s my daily driver.

Thinking a quick 2.5/1.5 leveling kit and some TRD wheels with 255’s would help me lose the soccer mom look.

I’m not wanting to cut away anything to prevent rubbing. Anyone know if that can work?
