Kenwood DNX 7100 park brake bypass and other questions...

I just had this unit installed by my dealer...They did a great job but I have a couple of questions...

I can see where they grounded the light green wire to the harness above the park brake...Can I snip this and ground it to something for obvious reasons...Can it be grounded to any metal?

The unit sticks out a bit...Maybe a 1/4 "...Is this normal or can you have it flush?...

The ipod classic won't display video or album art...Any up date on this...

I have the standard 6 speaker setup on my 07 SR5 any suggestions on upgrades?...Do you need to upgrade an amp as well?

I love this upgrade!!!!

Best Buy install dudes told me to Ground parking brake connection to bypass that safety feuture. I'm not sure if it'll work though.

Did they tell you where to ground it? I am hoping to snip the wire or disconnect it from the harness it is connected to above the park brake and just ground it somewhere?

ground it anywhere you want. It doesnt' matter. A lot of people tap onto a cig lighter ground, others scratch off paint and put a screw through the body.

Ground to chasis or body of the unit. On some players you may need to connect to positive terminal of grounded source. Check DVD units instructions well to find out whether it's ON circuit or OFF safety.

The unit is installed so I can't ground it to the chassis or body...All I need to know is if I can ground it to any metal screw or whatever source without taking the unit out...Thanks...

ground is ground! The chasis and vehicle body is all over the vehicle! All you have to do is find the wire and put it to a grounding spot. It really isn't difficult at all. A screw isn't ground though unless its screwed into the body of the vehicle. If you have a cig lighter plug nearby the wire, there is a ground wire coming off of it. Tap into that wire and it'll work just the same!

the answer is yes just ground it to any metal

Thanks, I am struggling to find something to ground it to on the floor board or under the dash near the park brake...

any thing metal will work or you could pull off the dash real quick and use a wire tap and ground it to the black head unit ground

I rigged up an alligator clip on the green wire and touched it to all the bolts in the area until I found one that worked as a ground...Then I clipped the alligator clip to the bolt...
