Kevstaarr's Build Thread

I'm surprised you had any rubbing with this setup. Like I said in our other conversation, I have zero rubbing with the same wheels and the same tire size, albeit a different tire. I have the Terra Grapplers.

I was actually quite surprised myself, but I mean it’s not too worrisome. Pretty sure it’s due to the brand of tire,I only rub on full lock anyways. I’ll get around to fixing it when I’m not lazy.

Got my lift kit installed! Nothing too crazy, just the Daystar 2.5" Comfort Ride Lift Kit (KT09134BK). This should keep the mod bug away for me for awhile :whoo:

Heard many good things about this shop from friends and decided to stop by today to get a quote on my lift kit installation. Ended up leaving my rig at the shop and came back a couple of hours later with the lift installed.

Ryan and Jay really know what they are doing. Jay owns a 3rd gen 4Runner on Icon suspension. They were straight up with me and said they have never worked on a 4Runner with KDSS, but assured me that they would get the job done, and they delivered. I highly recommend this shop if you are near the LA/SGV area.

I'll get pictures up once the it stops raining, this will do for now:

Still need to go and get a an alignment, hopefully I'll get lucky and there are shops that would be open on a Sunday.

Got the lift installed 2 weeks ago, got an alignment done yesterday, and finally hit up some trails over at Azusa OHV with a couple of buddies. The Falken's held up great in the mud and dirt. There was one portion where I got stuck due to choosing the wrong line, but I was able to get myself out. I wanted to test out the different Multi-Terrain Modes, A-Trac, Crawl Control & other settings, but didn't want to hold up the line. There's always next time for that. I was actually impressed that my friend's stock Subaru Crosstrek XV was able to keep up with us!
It was definitely a learning a experience, no major damage. Just left with a couple of pinstripes, but can't wait to go back out and hit some more trails!
Here's a couple photos:

Surprisingly, I actually didn't get stuck in the water! I got stuck on an on incline lol. But I know exactly which part you are talking about, a Land Cruiser & Tacoma got stuck & had to be pulled out.

Are those wildpeaks the p-rated version? How are you still liking them? They seam pretty aggressive for a p-rated if they are. Looking at these tires and 265/70/17 C load ko2. The Ko2's are double the price....@

Haven't had much time to update since I've been busy juggling a 8-6 Monday through Friday and handling family business over the weekend. Haven't had much time to go wheeling. Here's a couple photos from my last wheeling session.
Quick lunch before hitting the trail:

Came home the other day and my exhaust & roof rack came in. Just finished installing the exhaust earlier today.

Took a little bit longer than expected due to the stubborn hangers. It seems as if the OEM hangers were too short and the tip of the muffler was resting on the bumper. Quick little trip to an auto parts store and problem solved.

Hopefully I'll get around to installing the roof rack later on today or tomorrow once I have a helping hand.

Looks good man! how'd the exhaust turn out? video? really love the Falken wheels, might throw those on my stock trail wheels after i paint them.

Thanks to my friend for showing me a trail not too far from my house, I was able to put in a little wheeling session :bravo: Pretty challenging trail, but was definitely fun. Left with a lot of pinstripes though, wasn't able to see what kind of damage was done as it got too dark out. Hopefully it's nothing too bad. Wish I had my camera, but these will do for now until next time.

My cousin and I had a little free time yesterday, so we decided to hit up Rowher Flats. I've never been, but I knew it was going to be a great time!

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the trails we took were:
- 5N13
- 5N14
- 5N18
- 6N07
- 6N08
After making it to the top, we headed back down Bouquet Canyon Road to catch the highway.

I must say, I'm pretty impressed to see a stock Crosstrek handle some of the trails we did. Granted, there were a bunch of trails my cousin couldn't handle, I'm pretty amazed at the capabilities a Crosstrek has. Can't wait to see the difference once his suspension and wheels arrive.

Wish I had more action photos, but we were too busy having fun. Here's a couple photos I took:

Went back up today to Rowher to test out my cousins suspension on his XV and test out my friends new dirt bike that he just finished building last week. Recently installed a 1" lift kit on his XV Crosstrek and wanted to do some testing. I must say, that is one capable vehicle. The inclines/declines that he wasn't able to do two weeks ago, he walked right through them today! Can't wait until he gets proper tires

If I'm not mistaken, we did a couple black diamond trails. Unfortunately, there were some trails the XV couldn't handle, so I went with my friend & his bike. There were some parts where I got stuck (driver error), but I dropped into 4LO, turned on A-Trac and got right out. Definitely a learning experience, and definitely much more to learn.

Birthday is coming up and was thinking of giving myself a little gift. I'm looking for "budget" friendly sliders. Any opinions? I was thinking Rocky Road Super Sliders?
