Key fob ring fix

Anyone have any idea on how to fix this? In case you cant tell, the part that goes on the key ring wore out and slides right through the key ring. I'd really rather not have to buy another one. Creative minds very much welcome.

superglue it shut or fashion something to fit in the gap to superglue.

I'd get some of that two part clay that hardens when it's mixed. Fashion it around the end of the fob and poke a new hole in it before it hardens and then you could probably shape it with sand paper after it hardens.

Never tried it myself but that's what I'd try if I needed to. Try on something else first to insure it works.

I had the same problem, I did the super glue method, I did the rubber cover, but none worked. Duct tape maybe a solution but aesthetically looks terrible. I am by no means a person that is considered handy or has many tools so this was a big deal for me hahaha :jaw drop:

I bought a newer remote for $12 shipped

Thought it was an easy swap- WRONG, the guts inside were different size but I used a long nose prier and hacked away.

There were grooves/frame inside the newer remote that had to be cut out because of our older 4runner chip to sit correctly.

Now it sits perfect, back window function key still works although the picture is the trunk icon.

mcaz5, I've had keyfobs break like that before too. I always use J-B weld to repair them. Works great. If you've never used j-b weld before, practice on something else first before doing the fob. Good luck.

Two part plastic epoxy, let it cure then bust out the dremel. works great.

I used a very small drill bit in my dremel and drilled a hole to one side and put a small snap swivel from the tackle box in the hole and then i ground down the pieces where it is broken.

AutoZone sells a Camry Key Fob replacement case. It is just the plastic case without the electric. The 4Runner guts fit in there if you shave down the inside ridge by 3/4ths what it was where the battery fits. That case is $14. it's better then paying the $90 at the dealership for a new Key Fob when the key ring wears out.
