Key fob set to open all windows?

Anyone have the dealer set the fob so it will open all the windows and sunroof by holding the unlock key? Owners manual says that can be programmed at the dealer. I've had this on other vehicles I've owned and liked it.

I have this programmed on mines. Unlock and hold unlock button on key fob then all the windows go down except for the rear hatch one. You can roll them down but not up with the fob unless you insert the key into the driver side door and turn it.

I did it myself with the factory software. Another option is an OBDII adapter and the Carista app (paid). I think you can also configure whether the sunroof opens with the windows or not. But as previously stated you have to insert key into lock to roll up.

As long as the Windows have the 1-touch down feature you can program them this way, sunroof included. You can also have the seatbelt chime turned off (a must if you ask me for low speed driving) and even change the number of times the signals blink when you tap the turn signal stalk for a lane change!

I could only get side windows to go down with fob and up if I insert key in door. I cannot get the sunroof or rear window to work with them. The rear window is one-touch operation but we do not seem to have that option... at least on a 2010 model.

Carista is an app that with a plug-in dongle you can change all the dealer only settings.

I could only get the 4 door windows to work, no sunroof or rear window, not that I wanted them to anyway

With techstream I was able to get all windows and sunroof to open holding the unlock button. Not aware that the rear window can also be activated from the unlock button.

How much did you guys drop on the carista/dongle setups?

...im getting tempted but I wanted to see how much it would cost (trying to save up for lift!)

Was at the dealer today for my 5000 mile service. They did it for me for free as a one time courtesy. Four Windows and sunroof open with the fob, holding down the unlock button. You can close them all by using the key. The rear window doesn't roll down along with the other Windows and sunroof.

It's a great feature for when your truck has been baking in the summer sun and its 150 degrees inside.

Dongles are 10 to 20 and I suspect something similar for the app.

Didn't think we had this ability, couldn't find it in Techstream. Where did you set this?

During one of the first warranty services, asked dealer to enable this option. They messed with it for a little over an hour, was told they could only get the windows to role up & down, but not sunroof. No charge and I was on my way.

4 years later figured I'd pick up a copy of Techstream just to have. Installed program, plugged into vehicle, low and behold, they never enabled sunroof option, what maroons :frusty: Works like a charm now.

Definitely gonna check out if directional can be manipulated as stated above.

Unless its in a newer version of Techstream and/or only available on newer models (2015+ maybe?), there's no option for turn signal flashing anywhere in my version or available for my '11 SR5.

In fact, I don't recall seeing anything in any of the menus for turn signals at all. Could be wrong, but I've been in there many times and would have enabled that function, as I kinda like it on the rental cars I've driven.

And, just an fyi, there's more info on Carista in another thread here in the 5th gen section. It doesn't do all of the functions that techstream does, although its handy if you dont' wanna screw with the software install for techstream. That too is another thread here, search for either techstream or TIS.

Amazon sells the ELM327 dongle AND the app as a complete package for 40 bucks, or you can buy the app in the play store for 20 bucks (I assume its the same for iphones, but I do not have one so don't know for sure), then get a cheapo ELM327 from Ebay for a couple bucks (less if you wanna chance the 1 cent free shipping auction!).

I have both the cheap blue elm327 unit, as well as an OBDLink MX, and carista works with both, but it is extremely slow with the elm327 unit, and you may have to unplug it and re-insert the unit for each change you make in the app.

The OBDLink doesn't do that and is way faster to change settings. Nice thing about having either dongle is that you can use it for other apps too, such as Torque.

Its also nice to have a dongle and Carista or Torque, if you ever need to reset check engine codes while you're on the road and away from a computer either app (as well as some free ones in the appstores) will let you read and reset/erase codes.

It depends on the year of the rig. If you have tap turn (tap the signal and it blinks three times without fully hitting the signal stalk) you can adjust the flashes. No idea how it's done. I'm just a dumb sales guy that knows the what lol. My master tech buddy hooked it up on my 15 hughlander I had.
