Key Help

I was unlucky enough to lose my one and only Key today....
I went to the dealer and they couldn't find my key code when they looked up my VIN number....
Is there a way to get this key code? and if so, could someone give me the steps. Please.

Also, the dealer told me that my key was not chipped since it was a 1999. The lock shop said their books said otherwise. Any idea on which is true?

Try a different dealer or have another person at that dealer try again.

Unless your VIN isn't correct or your locks have been changed, they should be able to figure it out.

The key only has a chip on 99 and up limiteds.

Awe, crap. I do have a 1999 Limited. So, I'm guessing I'm unlucky enough to have a chip in it!?
