keyfob....

so i went to toyota parts and asked if my 2000 toyota originaly came with a keyfob,and an alarm( heard the alarm already btw) and they tell me its gonna cost 150 for a replacement?!?!?! and thats not includeing makeing it work for my car? is there anywhere i can get it cheaper? preferably oem? are the oem's that great or should i go aftermarket? what do you guys think?

You can buy a brand new one on a lot of sites for $50-80. I just bought a used one on eBay for $35. You have to program it yourself but its quite easy.

I just bought an 02 4runner and it was missing the remote as well.

The model you should search for is
-hyq1512y
I believe (has the rear window button).

awesome!!! yea that parts number helps big time,freaking toyota trying to proffit 100 off me.....arg....how hard are they to program?
