i just bought a 2006 4runner sr5. is the keyless entry also an alarm? or is it just a keyless entry?

A Limited model has some alarm-like features which are automatically armed by locking all of the doors. For example, it will honk and immobilize the engine when the hood or a door is opened without being unlocked first with a key or keyless entry. A glass breakage sensor is an optional, plug-in addition to that system.

The SR5 and Sport Editions don't have those features.

You can test if it has the optional alarm the Limited comes with by leaving a window open and locking the 4Runner as normal. Reach in and open the door from the inside, the horn will honk and lights will flash if it has the alarm option.
