Bought my first 4Runner about a month ago. It's a 98 SR5 and has VIP stickers on the windows, so I think it probably came with a dealer installed alarm. The RS3000 box is missing from under the driver's seat and after a lot of searching I'm trying to decide if it's worth tracking the correct one down and then trying to find the corresponding keyfob.
I picked up an RS3000 box on ebay that was from a 97 but now I'm having second thoughts after seeing the used keyfobs in rough condition going for $50 or more. Anyone that has keyless entry and/or alarm, is it worth trying to piece this together, or should I just buy an aftermarket system? I'm mostly interested in the keyless entry.
