keyless entry beep volume

Any idea how to get the turn signals to flash when locking the doors on a 2005?
I bought mine used without any flashing or honking so I got to stand pretty close to hear the doors lock, which can be very frustrating..

You've posted to the wrong forum. Your 2005 is a 4th gen 4Runner, and the programming instructions are different. I suggest you repost to the 4th gen forum.

Same problem as those above, buzzer barely audible, tried increasing volume via the above method, and it doesn't get louder. Replaced the unit to no avail. Looking for solution too...

Even though I have only had the fob for less then two months, I am over the beep, and having the lights flash. Has anyone disabled the lights flashing? Looks like I can just unplug the beep.

I really hate to bump an old thread, but I am having this same issue. I thought it was my beeper unit but I bought another one off of eBay and installed it and its still not working.

I can adjust the volume and will BARELY hear it even once my head is right next to the beeper. Pretty stumped as I went through the volume adjustment process with the new beeper and that STILL didn't work.

Does anyone have any advice on what this could be?

i just bought a 98 sr5 and it did not come with a key fob. im very keen on adding keyless entry. does anyone know if my car came with keyless and i just need to buy a fob and program it? is there any guides on this topic? i wasnt able to find much searching.

Look up your options via Toyota.com with your VIN. That should show whether or not yours came with the factory alarm.

Damn! One of my biggest gripes was that the remote beep was dead quiet and I wished that there was a way to make it louder. Would've never guessed there was a way from the factory!

Does anybody know if the oem alarm beeps and does the tone when you press lock on the fob? I just bought a 00 4runner and it does this everytime, plus it locks after 30 seconds if there is no activity. I was thinking with the volume selector i could make it beep louder than the horn.

Mines does the same thing and it makes me think there is an aftermarket alarm installed

Along the same lines - what about a mod to extend the range of the fob? I can't get a response when more than 10 feet from the rig - often less......with a fresh battery.
