Keyless Entry Installation

I have a 94' 4 runner SR5 V6 and I already have power lock doors but no keyless entry remote control.

I want to install one myself. Can anyone give me a detailed guide to do it? Or atleast give me a link?

I have searched this forum and other but no write-ups on exactly what to do. The closet I have found is for a 2003 and its just how to program.

If anyone knows how to install one please show me how.

Thanks.

Are you installing an aftermarket system?

They come with detailed instructions, and website and phone support

Yeah its an after market unit.

I was going to like circuit city and get a cheap unit and install the remote keyless myself.

Is it pretty easy do you know?

I installed an aftermarket keyless entry and remote started on my 1990 4runner. It's not too bad an install if you have a good multi-meter and a comfortable place to work.
I searched for a detailed wiring schematic, but decided it would be more work than finding the wires myself

I was thinking about just a remote start but after you said you did the starter im thinking about doing both.

How many wires and such did you have to access?

The wires you need are all relatively easy to find. You will need to splice into your ignition harness, not a big deal if you're good with electrical. There just isn't alot of room for error here as the harness is quite tight and didn't allow for too much wiggle room.

My started specifically needed, positive constant, switched power, acc power, positive tach, positive brake, and ground.

As long as you have good instructions you'll be fine.
