keyless entry

ok guys, i bought my 04 sr5 today and the car didnt come with the keyless entry, but they gave me a "universal" remote. and before everyone tells me to search im just wondering if programming it is any different.

ok my girlfriends dad has a 04 tundra and the remote they gave me looks exactly like his. will it still work on mine? newbie here guys, a little help?

have you tried following the programming instructions to see if it would program?

yeah, ive tried a bunch of different ones and cant seem to get it to work. which is the one to use?

I did this:
Programming 04 4runner keyless...

I think I had to try a few times to get my universal switchblade remote to work, but it did work.

The 4runner remote looks like this:

my remote is-GO43VT14T. maybe thats the problem.
