Knock Sensor Problems

i have a 1996 3.4 supercharged engine with a k&n air filter kit & transmission is a 5 speed and my problem is my check engine light comes on and the engine runs like **** when its on. i pulled the codes, the codes was for both knock sensors. so i replace both knock sensors with a new short harness to sensors and not even 10 miles down the road the light came back on for both knock sensors again. the 4 runner did not come with the super charger i put it in at about 100000 miles ago, now its has 113000 mile on it. What Do You Guy Think Is Happening, What Would Be My Next Step Or Any Info Will Help.

Was the code saying that the sensors themselves were bad? Or did it throw a code because the engine is actually knocking and the sensors were doing their job? I think the chance of both sensors going bad at the exact same time is pretty small.
