So i went to pep boys today and they pulled a code said the knock sensor with open or faulty, wanted to do a flow test to make sure it was bad.I have been reading alot of post about the knock sensor and the wiringmsome say it is most likelt the wiring that is bad on them before it is the sensor and i read where some guys want to put high octane in the vehicle so it wouldnt set off the code or something? So i was wondering would it throw that code if someone got ahold of some bad gas or low octane gas? i just got the vehicle and when i got it the check engine light wasnt on , and i have never put gas in it yet.I have only driven it a few miles, with all the talk about high octane fuel i was just wondering if trying a high octane fuel might help or am i just dreaming? ok so if iam then i read the location of the sensor is under the upper intake, and it is a real pain to do.Anyone got any advice on doing this job before i do it, and how do i make sure the sensor is bad? Thanks for any help i get.
