Knock sensors

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for any help. I have a 2005 4 runner Ltd V8 with P0333 code for bad knock sensor. I tore down the intake manifold and discovered what looked to be that someone had been in there previously. One set of wires to the sensors were not connected anymore and thus the new code. I replaced both sensors with OEM parts as well as soldering a new connector to the wiring. Put back together and still throwing the same code after having codes removed. Thinking I may need to replace the whole knock sensor harness and wondering if anyone has the bast method for getting this harness out. I know the starter needs to be removed but access is extremely difficult due to location of the bolts being between the water crossover tube and the firewall. Thanks again

i was told by my local dealer that the knock sensor harness is part of the engine harness and cannot be ordered separately.

It can be. $26 at dealership. It’s basicall a pigtail that connects the two knock sensors to the main wiring harness. About 16” long.

Wondering if you got your issue resolved? I have everything ready to replace both sensors and starter since the intake is off and having 276,000 miles. Would really hate to do all that work and it not solve the problem.

HIMILES: It is still in the shop. Apparently the other person to post a reply here was correct. Stealership sold me the part but was for a tundra. The wires were repaired by the independent shop but now code for the number 1 sensor came up. they are going back in to check on the issue. I took apart twice myself and wasnt too bad overall except the part of dealership selling me the wrong part so i couldnt find the plug that connects to harness, This model is one wiring harness for entire engine.
However, I did call insurance and told them that rodent had chewed wires . it was covered under comprehensive policy. so if you have comprehensive, check it out.
