I recently started hearing this "knocking" sound from the rear cargo area of my T4R. It is not consistant, and happens when I hit certain bumps or potholes (not all), and sometimes when I turn. It sounds like a hanging object hitting a plastic panel once...if that helps...or even sounds like a rock when it bounces in the rear wheel-well, something like that. Just a "DTUCK!" I thought the noise was coming from underneath the car, so I checked the under carriage, but I didnt see any "loose" objects. Can anyone shed some light on what this noise may be, its driving me CRAZY!!!! Thanks!

The most common sound from the passenger side of the rear cargo area was the squeak from the seat back latch. Try wrapping two to three layers of electrical tape on the D-ring where the passenger side second row seat back latches on to. Generally the noise/squeak is heard when you hit a bump.
i have this too when i hit unavoidable, substanstial bumps...but mine seems more from the front half of the passengers side of the car. it drives and rides perfectly fine and new otherwise...i havent figured it out...the seatbelts in my duramax do the same kind of thing where they will click/clank...but in 4r they don't seem to be hitting anything.

maybe your jack is loose rear left side in cargo area... that was causing a noise in mine before...

Mine has started doing the exact same thing in the past couple of weeks. I can't figure it out. I'm close to taking it to the dealer to have them check it out but it's not real consistent. It's getting more frequent however. If you get any clues let me know. I'll do the same.

Can you elaborate a little about which rubber stops? are you talking about the D ring that the hatch latches to??
Mine has a lot of noise and it is bothering me, could it be the suspension problem??

Mine does the same thing, but my knocking may be different from yours. I checked my jack, seat, spare tire, and everything else, but still had the noise. However, im sure some members will soon experience what I am experiencing, and that is a bad rear pasengers side isolator bushing on the coil spring. For me it causes a slight knocking noise when going over certain bumps and unevern payment. They don't sell the isolator bushings by themselves which sucks because the come with the coil springs only I believe. This is why i said no thanks for now. Over time the rubber gets hard a brittle and causes the noise.

I know your probably tired of re-explaining this...but, where are the two rubber stops you are refering to at the bottom of the rear window? I see two of them when I lift the hatch, along the inner sides of the door seams, but i dont see any on the bottom of the rear window. Thanks!
