The window wasn't quite stuck down, but I could only get it about half way up, then we yanked on where the mirror was and that dent you see in the door actually popped right out, and I was able to get the window all the way up. The problem areas with the door can actually be seen here though:



The door isn't quite straight anymore, and you can see sunlight and slip a knife through the gap at the top. Then there's the issue of where the mirror went. I'll never be able to bend that back to how it should be. So a new door and a mirror should solve my problems. Luckily the door took the hit and not the pillar!

I plan to just hammer out the fender, and maybe rattle can it and call it good. We'll see what happens with that.

I was actually really tempted to buy J-money's tube doors, but where I'm moving to, I need my full, working doors and windows for the winter haha.

There are far fewer spiders in potato county; they don't like the cold. Plenty of owls though. Toyota is packing its bags as well, leaving Torrance for Plano TX.

Well Blue moved to MO, and now I'm moving. But, I'm moving to the Coeur d'Alene area, so I can go from your wheeling ride, to your snow wheeling student, if we meet up somewhere in Washington during winter :thumb3:

I think I have a solution. I was just weather proofing the 4runner for this coming storm since the door doesn't quite seal all the way, and I could probably just drive like this during the winter with half doors:

Also, I circled and put an X on the quarter panel dent in case anyone missed it in the first picture. And yes, that is a weight on top of the roof holding down that part of the plastic wrap.

Edit: I guess I could add something useful to this post and give an Aussie update. It works. Period. I don't know why more people don't put them in the front. I've been on multiple wheeling trips with it now, and obviously I haven't exactly been running easy trails, and I still haven't broken a CV yet. The Aussie for the front gets two thumbs up from me.

As long as it's already taped off, just clean & clearcoat it. Looks good not rusty right now!

There's a black runner with a sport hood at 67 truck down in Lakeside... just saying haha.

Just an FYI you can buy that entire front fender piece, new, metal, after marker part for ~ $48 primed black.

I priced it out a few weeks ago.

The auto body parts place is located in National City.

I've been down there before and I picked up some parts from them. They sell the kind of discounted aftermarket parts body shops use for repairs.

so your moving up this way huh... you might as well not even fix that dent... like someone else said wheeling up here is a whole different animal. not only do you have the rocks to watch out for, but now the trees and everything is tight, not wide open spaces... let me know when you get up this way, id be down for a central meet, wheel and camp

Sounds like a good time! We should definitely try to get a Pacific NW meeting going. Socal has a monthly meet and greet now, and we were always doing runs. The Mountain regional section of here =
