Kraze's Mall Crawler build thread

Haha thanks guys. I don't really plan on selling it, but I swapped out the 4runner for our buddy's diesel and trailer that we'll be using to move, and he wanted to know how much I would sell it for. Then he found out it's not going to win T4RotM and he said forget it :nono:

If any of you have a facebook though, you should vote for their racing rig in this contest so they can win $500 worth of Napa parts: http://woobox.com/38yvq4/7tt3ez

They're not only letting us use their diesel and trailer (since obviously the 4runner isn't going to pull a trailer loaded down with everything over 1,300 miles), but they're spending their memorial day weekend driving it up there with us. Real stand up guys. Theirs is the Jeep that says Rockridge 4wd on the side. They're in second place currently. And yes, I know, it's a Jeep, but their personal wheelers are all Toyota's :thumb:

A bit of color in your pictures is good. Can't wait till I can take my vacation up there at the end of this month.

Yeah the scenery up here is amazing. I haven't found any good trails as far as wheeling goes, but I've been camping/hiking almost every weekend, and it's definitely enough to keep me entertained haha. Here's some more pictures of the area for anyone interested in nature and dumb stuff like that:

And a picture of the world's most aesthetic dog:

Good you got up there in one piece Kraze. With so much room to roam, there is less chance of seeing any spiders. Scenery is spectacular.

If I didn't have salt water in my veins, I'd love to live there. Unfortunately anything below 20F for my bald head just isn't fun.

Connor decided to add some extra nuts and bolts to his engine's internals I think; as the pictures show it didn't turn out too well.

Looks like you have found you spot my friend. It reminds me of the trip up to the Mts by Kennedy week took. I need to take a road trip it is looking like. I'm sure that beast is not to hard to find in town.

Killer build man! There are a few of us on the other side of the state in the Idaho Falls/ Pocatello area

Thanks! I figured all the other Idaho members would be down south haha.

So does this mean you'll be venturing down to Utah more often?

Because Moab

Haha I wish! Moab is actually farther away now that I moved up here. But one day, I will make it out there!

Me and a buddy were going to go to this in August. I got duped into a work trip to Southern California instead. Thought you might find it interesting.

NORTH IDAHO MUD AND CRAWL: Location

Yeah I've been following them and will probably head up there at least one of the days to spectate. My 4runner wouldn't be able to make it through that course haha. That sucks that they're shipping you back down to California for those days though :wtf:

Let me know if you ever head over there. I'm only 3 hours away and I can usually slip away a day or two luckily.

Also, you're running a Safari Steering rack, correct? I'm looking into the option but what's different about them? I know they have brass bushings but what does that do? And how does it benefit me when i'm wheeling?

He's running an O'reilys auto parts rack.

Yep, reman'd O'Reilly's rack. I would've gone with the Safari rack had I not needed a steering rack right then and there. Oh well, if I ever do the rack again, I'll go with Safari.

Are there any good wheeling spots to wheel up there? Would you be down for a scenic trip out to Glacier National Park some time in the fall? I don't know of any wheeling spots out there but its amazing if you've never been and its super close to you.

I haven't found anything good yet. All I've been on so far are just logging trails, which I don't even count as wheeling lol. There's supposed to be a good trail somewhere around here, but the location of it is very hush hush and I haven't found out where exactly it's at yet.

It's funny you mention Glacier though, I was just looking at pictures of it the other day! It's definitely on my list of places to go, so hell yeah I'd be down.

Shane I miss our Deer Springs Runs

Me too, man, me too. I took for granted how nice it was to have a decent wheeling spot so close to home haha.
