L4l, H4l, H4f - H4f ??

This probably a stupid nub question but my last 4Runner was a 2008 and didn't have this type of transfer case shifter. L4L and H4L I understand but H4F. What does the F stand for? :ranger:

what trim of 5th gen? The driver side sun visor has 4x4 info on it.

This as well as the owners manual in your glove box. Or google which takes literally seconds. lol

AWD case so limited, right? F for full time 4wd.

Freedom. Freedom for the front wheels and rear wheels to do as they please independent of each other. 'Cause this is America!!

L4L - low range 4wd locked center diff
H4L - high range 4wd locked center diff
H4F - high range 4wd unlocked center diff. I'm assuming F stands for Full-time for use on any surfaces.

Thanks guys it's the 2020 Limited, magnetic grey with black interior I'm referring to. I haven't taken delivery yet so at a bit of a loss. All three of my previous 4runners had nothing like this. "and now I know the rest of the story".

"F" is for free. Center dif not locked. On a Limited least ways.
