Ladder help, need measurements.

I'm looking to put a ladder on the hatch to let me get in and out of my RTT. Can anyone provide a measurement on the Gobi, BajaRacks, and Ecotechne ladders?
I'd like to know how far from the left edge of the hatch the right side of the ladder is, at the top. Closer to the center is better for getting in and out of the tent.
Also, if anyone knows of a ladder not mentioned above, feel free to mention it.

RTT ladder and tailgate ladder

The Baja Racks ladder is two inches (2") from the left edge, at the inside edge of the plastic spoiler, to the left side of the ladder mounting plate. The ladder sits way left of center. Not sure if you can put it at the center but I wouldn't want it there due to the visual distraction in the rear view mirror. It sits nearly out of view where it is now.

Most RTT I have seen photos of have a ladder on the side. The door is on the side, not on the rear. The ladder is an aluminum ladder that I assume comes with the RTT.

I think the included side ladders would be much more useful for getting in a tent. I haven't really seen any you enter from the rear of the vehicle. IMO the hatch ladders are not that useful (I have one). Most of the stuff on the rack I just get while standing on the sliders. Hardly ever climb up on top.

Baja Rack ladder measurement

I have the Baja Rack ladder; the white rig has the Gobi. The Baja Rack ladder is about 17 inches from the left side of the hatch to the right side of the ladder. The photos are not perfectly straight from behind, but you should be able to see that the Baja Rack is more curved and that the Gobi is more centered. I personally like that the Baja Rack is to the left so it does not obscure the sight line.

I believe C4 Fabrication has a ladder option that looks like it is also positioned to the left (as opposed to more centered like the Gobi). The C4 Fab ladder has a distinctly different design. There's a photo of a prototype on another thread.

Here's a close-up of the Baja Rack ladder. You can see the positioning at the bottom about 2 inches (from the edge of the hatch to the bottom bracket) previously mentioned.

AH ok, I guess I didn't think about that style. I think that ladder would be much easier / effective in getting in and out of that tent though. Mounting and dismounting a vertical Gobi would be a pain in the ass. Especially if it was in the middle of the night to take a pee.

I don't think any ladder will work, are you planning on opening the RTT tent to front, which won't work very well because the ladder does supply some level of support to platform climbing up and down.

Thanks, but I don't have the style of tent you are thinking of.
I have an AluCab Gen3 tent. It's a hardshell. It'll work if the ladder is close enough to the rear opening.
Not the best pic, but there is a door under the awning in the rear of the tent.

Yes, I wonder about the late night exits (frequency is directly related to bourbon intake, I've learned).
On the other hand, a vehicle attached ladder is one less thing to carry and set up. Probably need to find a local that has a ladder mounted and take a look up close.

Why not just have a ladder fabbed up about 4" wider then a Gobi(So it doesn't obstruct the licence plate)...and make it out of aluminum so it doesn't really impact the struts....then just center it, where it would be the most practical?

I'm not sure how the Gobi is to be mounted, but I could have mounted the Baja more to the right. You might be able to mount the Gobi at a position more centered on the hatch that would work for you. I guess you would also need to find out about partially obscuring the license plate though.

Thanks. That tent is awesome, I did an eight week trip with it. Super easy, super comfortable.

Hadn't considered having a ladder made, but I might talk to a shop or two about it. Thanks for the idea.
