Hello All,


Been a member here for a while, and I still have my 4Runner. But just acquired a 2000 Land Cruiser. (I hope it proves to be as reliable as my 4runner has been.)

Looking for a good Land Cruiser forum like this one we have for 4runners! (I know of Hubb and MUD. but not too impressed with what I am seeing there for Land Cruisers.)

Wanted to see there are more dual, 4runner/Land Cruiser, owners like me here who can chime in. (or anyone who has info.)

Any idea?

Above and then 100 series.

Did you replace the Heater Core T-joints? These are like the 3rd gen's pink milkshake. Very common on LC and LX 100 series, and a failure, which is snapping one of the plastic joints lead to drain coolant and then head gasket failure.

I have not looked into this yet, as today is my first day of ownership. Although T-Joints already turned up when browsing around. Truck has 214K from the first owner, who serviced it at the dealer, so let's see when I start looking into!

A LC would be the other vehicle of this type I'd own along with the T4R. Don't want automatic tho. In Japan they did a year's run of a 1980's LC a year or two ago, retro. Would be cool if those started getting imported. The benefits of living in Canada....

I'm working with a guy in Calgary right now... I'll either be bringing over a UZJ101 with a stick and 4.2L diesel or a HZJ74 or 76 in the same configuration.

Joy of Canada is we have 10 years of newer imports than our southern neighbours!
 
Welcome to the LC life!!! I have an 05 Land Cruiser that complements my 01 4Runner very well.

ih8mud.com is the best place for info. The website isn't as user friendly as this 4Runner site, but there's equal number of people willing to help and information.

Go to the hardware store TODAY and get a brass T fitting to replace the plastic OEM T fittings. Do it now before this $5 preventative maintenance leaves you stranded.
 
I have a 90 'Runner and an 07 LX. Best of both worlds. ih8mud is every bit as informative and user friendly as t4r. Use the search function there, all the beginner questions you have have been asked by numerous people for many years.

I had a 1988 fj62 LC and was on Ih8mud a lot. I think this forum is better. Love my 4runner but still miss some things about the LC.

What are you looking for that ih8mud.com isn't providing for you?

Granted that I'm probably just more familiar with MUD than I am with T4R, but I have a far easier time finding tech info on MUD than I do here. I think it's something with how the search tool functions. ???

Give MUD another chance. There's a tremendous amount of info there and tons of folks willing to help.

I had a '97 locked LX450 that was lifted and armored. NEVER should have sold it either but the folks over on MUD were incredible. I find the same here to be true....FWIW.
 
Mud is the way to go by far. Friendliest and most knowledgeable forum I've been on, though that seems to go with LC guys in general it seems.

Former 1997 Land Cruiser owner, MUD is pretty awesome!
