Large tires with spacer...rubbing

I have been running 265/75/16s on a stock third gen for 2 years now, no problems. I just did the TBU, and as part of that, had to install 1.25" wheel spacers in the front to clear the larger calipers. All went well there. But now my tires rub when turning sharp, or when turning lightly but hitting a bump, and it's pissing me off.

So I guess it's time to refresh the suspension, which needed done long ago anyway. My question is: Has anyone here run into this issue with this tire size, and if so, what size lift took care of it for you? Would a 2" suspension lift work or will I need to also add a body lift to get the clearance I need?

Actually thinking about it, it's probably rubbing the bumper. I might be able to just trim it. It was too dark to figure out what was rubbing when I got finished with it. Guess I'll check that out tomorrow.

Still, if anyone has had this same issue, would appreciate your advice.

Stock wheels? It is all about backspacing ....

There is a common misconception here on T4R that spacers will help prevent rubbing or assist with clearing the tires but that is not always the case, in fact in many instances adding 1.25" spacers will make the rubbing when turning wheels start occurring or make it worse in general.

I needed the spacers to bring the wheels out to clear the 231mm calipers. Without them I couldn't even get the wheels back on. Yes, the spacers are causing the rubbing, now I need to fix that.

Yeah I finally had a chance to look at it today and that's where it's rubbing for sure. Too damn cold to mess with it right now though. Hopefully that takes care of it and I don't have to mess with it anymore.
