Largest tires on 16" stock rims 2005 V8 4x4 SR5

Planning new tire purchase. Have stock 265/70 - R16's. Looks like 265/75 - R16's are an easy fit, but wanted to see if anyone has successfully gone larger without a lift...

I think the 265/75-16 should be the biggest that you can fit without a lift. The overall diameter is 31.6" and is exactly the same diameter that many guys with 17" rims upsize to (265/70-17).

265/75-16 will also fit in your spare tire carrier without an issue.

Note: The stock 4th gen can accomodate up to a 32" tire without a lift.

I've got 275/70R16 for winter. They are wider but same diameter as a 265/75. These nicely fill the wheel well.

I decided to put on 265/75 BF Goodrich Radial All Terrain KO's.

They fit and don't rub. Used to have them on my old '88 FJ62 Landcruiser and forgot how much noise they make. Maybe I just couldn't hear the tire hum above the engine noise on the 'cruiser.

Anyhow, they look great, and it will be nice to have the traction on the next surf trip to Baja.
