For those of you who have rust underneath your 4Runners view the link above... I just saw this online. I have no idea about the cost or availability of this tool/service.

Ha! I've seen and researched this before. It's an awesome tool, but even the cheapest model (50w) costs $50,000+. The ones used in the videos are 100w -1000w models.

However I am confident that someday, maybe in 10-15 years, we will have a much more affordable model available. Similar to the first color TVs that came out, adjusted for inflation, were $7000-$10000

This tool costs roughly $600,000 and the "rust" it beats every time but could come off with nothing more than a frown in its direction. Come up to Ontario and use that tool on our trucks. At the end of the day, nothing will beat a grinder but truly, nothing will beat rust.

The tool costs 480,000.00 dollars. That's slightly more than I wanted to invest in performing rust removal on my 1999 4runner. But if we got 4,800 3Rd gen owners to do a group buy to each pay 100 bucks, I'm in lol.

Obviously the tool is crazy expensive as I suspected it might be (although I had no idea some were in the half million dollar price range). Are there any shops in your area that have this tool and offer a rust removal service? If not, what is the market for this tool? Is it just experimental at this point?

I don't have any rust issues underneath my 4Runner, but I posted this here because rust removal is a topic that comes up often on this forum.
