I know there is a Cleghorn run in the works for tomorrow, but that's a little far for a lot of us down in San Diego, so I'm just gonna gauge interest in a run of a cool trail closer to us.
If I get any interest I would like to lead a group to Chariot Canyon/Oriflame Canyon up by Julian. The trailhead is a little east of Julian in Banner (Coordinates: 33.067388, -116.547604). The trail is a big loop that runs up over the mountains and down a big canyon that used to be a mail route back in the 1800s. The trail isn't anything too technical, but it is plenty of fun through some washes and creek beds and the route back up is a cool cliff side switch-backed trail. I completed it no problem in my stock 4wd 3rd gen, but I'm sure 2wd could make it too with a little bit of skilled driving. We also picked some wild prickly pears last time we were out there to make lemonade with!
Plan to meet at the trailhead (33.067388, -116.547604) at 7am, if there are enough confirmed vehicles we might have to find a bigger meeting spot.
I have frs/gmrs frequency capabilities, so if you have something that can transmit on any of those channels that's what I'll be using.
And last but not least, I have never led a group on a trail run like this so if I'm missing anything please ask!
