Last offroading trip (Lots of Pictures)

Went on my last offroading trip on Saturday, up above Nederland Colorado ☹
New Jeep JK and 4Runner (Me), neither made it though unscaved. We left the Jeep at the camp grounds and the 4runner made it back to Denver. I hit a rock bad towards the end of the trail and the short story is $2,000 to fix. The Jeep that didn

I hit a rock towards the end of the run and it is costing 2k to fix. Was supposed to leave for Vegas on Wednesday but rescheduled that for October :( With the $2000 this is costing and I just bought this...

Nice pics and looks liek you guys had a blast. I haven't done Middle St. Vrain since the mid '90s in my GF's '94 Toy PU and I can't wait to do it in my 3rd gen.

To be honest I still do not understand how the rock did that damage. Passenger front tire was pointing a little right when the steering wheel was straight. Also the bottom was about 10 degrees out.

I heard a bang from under the right front so I stopped and looked, the only rock I could see was pertruding from the wall of the trail. I do not see how that rock would be able to do damage under the car and not do anything to the wheels on the outside. It was vary strange I wish I took pics of it.
 
Those are great looking pictures! It sure looks like fun (minus the $2,000 repair bill). Don't let that prevent you from going offroading again. I wish I had trails like that around my area!

Does that Wrangler still have temporary plates? That person wasted no time to take their new truck offroading!

The only trails here are for bikes and people. :(

But I'm confused about the "damage".

How the hell did it cost 2k?!

I do hope you didn't get gouged. What needed replacement?
 
That looked like a lot of fun... except the $2k repairs though... that jeep guy really didnt waste time in breaking in the new toy!

for a second i thought that jeep came from california... but then remembered that Lithia has over 150 dealerships in various states . :P i got sick of seeing those plastic plates cuz i worked at a local Lithia dealership lately.. "Assured Cars & Trucks".. :bonk: lol. :p

Did you snap the passenger side diff bracket? These are failing on a lot of 4th gen rigs.
