NFAB, CBI, Domello, Expedition One and several others will be introducing their front bumpers before the years out and they'll start stealing market share from Mark to the point that he's going to have to figure out something, because 6 months is unacceptable. 4-6 weeks for a custom bumper is fine, any more than that and you have staffing issues that need to be addressed.

Not sure where you getting your lead times for shrockworks but it was 4 months for me when I had my 4th gen. No doubt when I pull the trigger, it will be shrockworks again.

when i called to order a front bumper and sliders he told me 6 months and he needed 50% down to hold my place in line. no thanks.
 
Another good thing with all these manufactures coming on board is price points "ought" to be decent with a lot more business in the mix there will be plenty of competition. Also turnaround times will hopefully improve, because people are impatient like me and don't like waiting forever.

I wish I could find an image, description or price for the 4x4 Labs front bumper but it is not listed on his website. His website is a beautiful blog about what he's doing and a few products he sells for $85k Land Cruisers and the $120k Mercedes G wagon. If he's got 4Runner products I wish he'd put them up on his site.

The ARB front bumper is shown in one thumbnail image with no info that's useful. What they show looks good but it's too dark to see any details. If they're selling that bumper I wish they'd show a few images and tell us that story about the impact crush cans.

That's something all of these aftermarket, off-road bumpers are lacking, a crumple zone. That collection of materials and series of collapsible layers is designed to protect passengers in the event of a front end collision. The crushable front end of a stock body also protects pedestrians. If you own one of these you need to be aware that you've removed an important part of the advanced safety engineering that's there for everyone's protection.

I'd like to have one of these bumpers too, but I realize that it requires more conservative driving.

You're so right about the lead time and business management of Shockworks. They have a staffing problem. He needs to grow in size and personnel. Some businesses reach a point of maximum sustainable production and can't grow or earn more money because they haven't taken the necessary steps to grow. It takes investment and acceptance of some risk to grow. Shockworks may be in just such a rut, and if so, they can't sell any more than they are now. They will likely sell less in the future as others offer more timely delivery. Business 101.

Bumpers are like women and everyone has their own opinion of what they find sexy. In the end, it's all personal choice of what makes you happy.

Ive seen some pics of the Demello bumper on IG. Definitely can't wait to see the final result. Looks the best imo ;-)

Ya I am excited for Jasons bumper mainly because his shop is literally right down the road from Vegas so I could pick it up and avoid freight costs, although a road trip up to Sacramento and Luke's shop wouldn't be too bad either.

would love to get a full front bumper on the LE, but I am holding out for the 6th gen to come out to decide.

either way, its gonna be spendy if I do get a bumper as I don't trust anyone in town to install it correctly so I would have to take a trip to the oem to install it.

yes I know, I could probably do it, but it gives me a very good excuse to do a road trip :)

and I haven't done a solo road trip in ages.

Yes, Demello is in Riverside, CA. Just an hour from me. Their front bumper and the rock sliders look good. On his website the first photo of the front bumper shows something delicate looking with tubes and plastic sticking out below the bumper. What is that and why isn't it covered?

That's the washer fluid and reservoir. I'd think that they havnt covered it yet because they're still trying to design the bumper itself. Regardless, smart people remove it and relocate it all together anyway.
 
To those of you that own the 4xlabs front bumper.
Is there room to put 3hoops on it like the shrockworks bumper?
