Latest Navigation DVD version

Does anyone know the latest version of the navigation DVD software?

Does Toyota have this information in the Internet? How would we know what has been changed (mapping/points of interest etc..) from one version to the next?

IIRC, people on the siennaclub forum were saying v4.1 "will be" released in October. My guess is you wouldn't know if things were changed w/o looking at the map. I doubt there are release notes with it.

Really? That's a shame. We have an Acura with factory navigation and every time there is an updated version of the DVD available, they list the changes to the mapping ( new coverage areas or updated roads etc..) and even the points of interest. This information is important to decide if I want to purchase the latest version or stick with my current one instead.

Toyota does not provide this info?

well...I should have put the caveat that I've never gotten an update dvd for my nav (haven't had it long enough), so they might provide them. dunno. guess we'll eventually find out! :)

I recently found out that version 4.1 has been released. I don't know what the changes are though....

Had this same issue last year, I called the national Toyota customer service to see what changes were on the new version, they could not tell me, I did buy the new version, my version that came with my 4Runner was 2002, even though the vehicle was a 2003. I was hoping that auto routing and voice guidance would be updated to include back roads, but it was not, still only auto guidance and voice are provided on major roads and in large cities. I did notice that they did make some road additions and POI that were not on the original version, not worth the $230 price, would be nice for Toyota to provide a website like Honda does on the changes of each new DVD version.

You're saying that the voice guidance does not happen on backroads? That's nuts! The Honda/Acura system gives you voice guidance on ALL roads.
