Flying back from California as we speak. But I can get you photos later today. What I did was have bike top tube covers made that are about 12" long. By a local bag company. This keeps the ends of the trax from being plastic on metal of the gobi rack. I use a bike lock to keep the maxtrax locked because in Portland anything not locked will be stolen. I then use some 36" bungee cords to hold things in place. I'm going to swap those to black ratchet straps since the bungees have a tendency to get brittle in the sun and rain here.

Welp...things were going great till I turned on the child locks for a friend's kid who I picked up from the airport (their parent and the kid). And my child locks are now seized in the locked position.
Guess it's going back to the dealer to have that repaired. Once again proving my theory that anything having to do with children ARE JUST THE WORST!

That's why I have two hunting dogs as children. Plus added bonus, you can put them in a crate and no one calls child protective services.

Bingo, I knew I'd never turn them on, but I got curious. Thankfully the repair will be covered by my warranty. But just one more reason why children are awful...they ruin good trucks.
Awesome rig and I love the color. I'm almost ready to get a 16 TRDP for my next rig. I haven't totally settled on the color, the magnetic or the inferno. Looking at yours pushes me in the inferno direction quite a bit.
How do you think the suspension you selected is holding up to all the added weight? I think mine will tip the scales a little bit when i'm done (is there a done?). I will probably do an ARB front bumper and I have been debating on how much I need a rear bumper vs the weight.

They dont make the 16 TRDP in inferno, just mag grey, white and quicksand. [emoji30]

Yep Inferno was 2015 only. It's the color I fell in love with. The suspension is actually doing just fine, but keep in mind it's the ICON Stage 5/6 (upper links are now ICON), and rear springs are OME 2898.
As far as weight, I stopped at a weigh station a few weeks back, and I'm at about 5700lbs fully loaded, fully fueled, with water, etc.

What's left to do in January is:
-Snorkel. I'm working with ARB to get a prototype snorkel on this from Safari, as the truck will be getting used in some commercials locally.
-Fender Flares. On order, all 4 will have to be cut and modified to fit my rear bumper and front bumper.
-Front Bumper. I may be getting one of the first off the line Pelfrey aluminum bumpers. I should break even on the weight because when I take out my winch plate it'll free up 43lbs. The stock bumper has to be at least 20-25 lbs of plastic. Even adding in the 6lb light bar up front, I'll likely break even on weight. Which is awesome.

I'm actually going to swap them out to stainless steel torx tomorrow. The issue is they've already started rusting due to our epic rains.
Also:
Throwing out a bit of Retro FJ love...thoughts? Placement look good?

Cool, I had to build some contact pads for the swing arm, when you're ready I can build you a set if you're interested.

Whats the deal with your rear diff? I noticed in one of the pics you have stainless steel bolts facing the front of the car?

I didn't get the swing out, long story but it's just not practical for my current usage. I know Ill regret it down the road but this was paid for by insurance so that's ok. I'm still looking forward to it, and the install, my buddy's comment "this will be way less technical than other things we've done, we can drink a lot more beer"!
