So those are stock fender flares, just line-x'd?

It's not that big a snorkel, the quarter panels jut out a lot and to either match or increase the airflow needed, the physical space has to go somewhere. This thing is a million miles ahead of that chicom knock off though. It's as big or slightly smaller than the 3rd Gen tacoma snorkel, with the 2nd gen Tacoma snorkel being the smaller of the 3 because there's less curves involved on that trucks' quarter panels. Simply put, the more modern the body style the bigger the snorkel for the Taco/4R.
They're plastidipped only for this weekend for the auto show. Next week we'll peel them off and they'll be LineX'd. The front upper grill is wrapped. I may eventually have it painted for durability, but we'll see.
Thanks. I think all front bumpers are subjective. I personally wanted a more flat bumper with hoops but the ARBs stick out a ridiculous amount, the SW bumpers are ridiculously heavy, etc. I'm a fan of the Pelfrey, it's growing on me, and the weight gain was actually almost a net zero since we no longer need the 43lb steel hidden winch plate.

Still a little more to do.
-The front bumper light bar hasn't been wired in yet to the dashboard controls.
-We're raising the front end up about 3/4-1" just to level the vehicle out visually.
-Plastidip comes off and Line-X goes on.
-Re-alingment due to the changes in the front suspension.
I think that's it for a while.

Looks good, When the weather warms up or I get ambitious plasti dipping the flares is next. For ascetic reason only, I suppose if I really liked get them line-X'd for some door ding protection where the sliders don't cover but if the prices are anything like when I look at getting my sliders done I expect near $300
Out of curiosity why did you choose to put the water storage above the sun roof vs. the rear of the rack closer to the ladder?

Likely because it's the contrast and general balance of accessories. Otherwise it makes it look too front heavy in most other vehicles I've seen.

I think it's the black fender flares that sets it off.

Thanks man. I'm the photographer for the event. My truck is just on display.
There's no sun roof on the TRD pros. I used to carry fuel above there but when I got the CBI rear bumper it became more simplified to keep 5 or 10 gallons of gas on the back. I don't even have to remove the gas tanks I can hand siphon the fuel from external tanks to the vehicle tank. Water out in the high Oregon desert is a bit more critical. I found that water was a bit higher on my list when out hiking. That and the fuel rotopax tend to balloon quite a bit with fuel and can weep. I didn't want gas dripping on my roof so I switched them to water.

Completely agreed. Next week they'll get lined and then done. But them being black was critical to tying everything together.

hahaha, I just wanted to build the dream rig that I could never build in college because I was super poor. Not much left to do on this besides an ARB fridge in the back!
I'm super stoked to have it at a big auto show, i mean when I got my 4Runner I would have never thought to take it this far or that it'd ever be show worthy.

My truck is in the 503 Motoring booth, so it's next to Teslas, Lambos, Ferraris, etc, which at first I was thinking, "ugh I'm the cheapest one here!"
But the cool thing is that the 4Runner is also unique in that people who walk by it more often than not can say, "I could actually afford this, I could build this within my means!" Which is a neat concept. I doubt I'll own a Lambo or Ferrari in my lifetime, but whatever, it's still an amazing purchase in the Toyota.
Oh thank Gawd! Do this mean we have a chance to catch up? Every time you come up with another awesome mod, I have to put it on the list of things I want to do to my rig. I haven't even washed my rig yet, but between you and [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] I feel like I have a 50 mile long "That would be so cool to do" list. :yield:
