One vehicle didn't even make it back under its own power. So I feel good about how we did. I'm going to fix the truck up and then decide next steps.
So are you still thinking about a Raptor, or was that a fleeting thought? After we discussed it on instagram a few days ago, I'd be lying if I said I didn't look online to see if the price on them has started to drop much yet (a tad, but still not much under MSRP if that).. Granted, the Gen1 raptors are way reasonable even for a low mileage, but the new ones are a step above in power, weight, and fuel mileage by a pretty good margin..

12 minutes into this is a 4 minute cut away comparison of a bilstein and the Stock Raptor Shocks and why Kings as you know are the only way to go. I'm a Raptor Fan but I would definitely be upgrading to Kings if I could afford one in the first place. I was tossing around the idea of a used F150 V8 and putting all the go fast suspension under that. Maybe one day.....

Man reading your posts REALLY makes me miss my Raptor. And I never even knew about the King suspension for it, I just ran the stock Fox. I had to sell it because it's just not conducive to my living situation in CT. It barely fit in my garage (see pic), i couldn't take it below the 2nd parking level of my work, etc. etc.
The thing I loved most about the Raptor was the size.
But oddly, the thing I love about the 4Runner is the size as well. You don't have to have a gameplan of how you're going to park every time you enter a lot. I loved that the backseat (extended cab) was like it's own apartment, and I loved the 38gal tank.....but honestly the 4Runner just "fits" better.
Unless of course you're doing baja type stuff. And in that case you've got me drooling again. Oh to live out west!! Keep up the posts!!

Didn't the trd pro tundra win the Baja 1000 in the stock class in 2015? Ford brought in the 2017 Ford Raptor and it came in last place (behind some Toyota land cruisers) in the same stock class a year or two later?
Curious to hear what others think about this

I forget where the 2017 raptor places in 2016. But the gen 2 wasn't around in 2015. I'd never want a tundra compared to the raptor.
In other news that causes my ABS to fail is my rear left wheel speed sensor got hammered by a rock. Gonna see about replacing it myself.

Dealers in Norcal with the 2017 Raptors are asking $100k for them. $35k over MSRP. I like them too, but I think I'll stick with my 4runner for now.
The Tundra TRD Pro that year was raced by one of the worlds best racing teams and backed by Toyota. The Raptor that was brought was a private group of guys just doing it by themselves. Kind of comparing apples to oranges..
Sounds like some Norcal people have more money than brains..
Go on ebay.. you can find new raptors between 60k for base or 75-80k for loaded all day now for "buy it now" prices.. Those are pretty close to MSRP.

That would be a hard deal to pass up. Especially if your off-road tastes are now skewed more to the high-speed/Baja-style runs like you just completed.
Just asking, not for me but for a friend....is there a tutorial for a proper Toyota Wave?
