LawnDart's Build Thread

Just curious, will you be able to fit the new beast into your parking garage?

Congrats on the new ride, change is always exciting and the Raptor is a bad *****.

The 4Runner is maybe a LITTLE shorter than the raptor by a few inches, when you factor in the fuel can carriers. Just a 35" longer wheel base.

Last year I had my friend bring his new Gen 2 Raptor into the parking spaces, as I was HOPING the truck wouldn't fit, and thus dissuade me from buying one. It fits, barely.

Hey guys, so I'll stick around till friday and then I'll be gone. I was planning on this past friday being the last day, but given Pelfreybilt imploding, and people being screwed over, I had to stick around and provide some assistance where possible. But just like a former varsity quarterback hanging around his home town reliving the glory days...it's time to move on.

Me talking about my new raptor beyond that isn't what this forum is about. I'll leave this thread for sure because it's certainly a good resource and documentation on the build. Others will come out with some great builds as well.

Anyways, here's some photos from last year of when my friend parked the 2017 Supercrew Raptor in the garage:

Congrats on your new ride! You sure have left a great build thread legacy for us to aspire to! Maybe we will catch your next build on IG or youtube bombing through baja.

Congrats on the Raptor, I had a Gen 1 and my father has a nicely modded Gen 2, you will love it. Keep an eye on the motor issues that are creeping up a lot more with them, definitely something to watch.

Definitely a bummer to see you leave, but I get it...

Good luck with the Raptor. Hopefully you will keep your Instagram account going so that I can follow your Raptor adventures over there.

Cheers!

Disappointing, and have an inkling we'll see you back again one day, maybe with a non-work-related build for pure exploring?

In the meantime, will you be on Expedition Portal at all?

I’m not sure if my wife was impressed or disgusted I recognized an “internet 4Runner”. I just spent time looking around the restaurant trying to figure out who bought it.

One of the biggest downsides of the XV3 vs the XV2 is the lack of a fullsize galley table. While the tailgate has a swing up table ledge (my idea!), it's pretty small. So we opted to under mount a Frontrunner table with the wash basin to the bottom of the roof rack. This gives us a fullsize table for food prep, and tucks back under the rack when transporting.

...

We did swap out the rack lights for Baja Designs, and this thing is absolutely absurd when fired up in the darkness. We do plan to do a few more mods after Rally, and have a cool new application for Baja Designs RTL-S light.

I wonder if anyone has installed anchors on an XV3 fenders and installed the XV-2 Galley Table.........any reason that wouldn't work? I do think the FrontRunner table sounds like a good idea though, what table slide did you use? Any issues attaching it to the Rhino Rack?

Also, why swap out the Rigid with Baja? I love Baja, but I don't see why swap out unless something was to be gained, just curious.

According to my calculations, there is a 2.999(repeating of course) percentage increase of lux output when switching from rigid to baja brand lights. This, of course, cannot be readily seen with the naked eye and must be measured with a calibrated light meter. But nothing less than the best will do.

So Max, aka MTN4RNR, who now lives about 15 minutes away from me here in Bend Oregon...suggested I drop in.

Hope y'all have been doing well.

BTW....your sig, "I don't own a 4Runner anymore"

Well, all I can say is, "when you did, it was one that made others envious"!
