Lazy troubleshooting question.

01 runner with 120k I have owned for 2 months

I will be lazy and ask the forum of knowledge before digging into the front end.

It has a "chirping" sound coming from what I believe is the drivers front.
The noise is most prevalent at low speeds with poor road conditions (most roads in portland :wink2: )
A good pothole and I don't think it makes the noise but just jostling of a poor road and its chirping like a bird.

It also has related or not a decent vibration at ~62mph that a balance didnt correct. (may have been a poor try by the tire shop)

Moving sounds are my favorite to troubleshoot (sarcasm)

any idea to start with would be great.

Squeaky body mounts/bushings?

Squeaking could be sway bar bushings. Vibrations could be alignment, tires need balancing, worn bushings, etc. Jack it up and do the ol' push pull test.

You should get the vibration more when you accelerate if it's a bad U joint.

I think the truck sat for 4 months before I bought it. I just noticed the oil change sticker in the window say 7/17/12 or 124k I bought it early August with 119k. flat spot on tires? not sure if thats real.

Flat spots in tires are real but only last a couple minutes and is more prevalent in colder temperatures. Bias ply tires hold flat spots long as well. I am assuming you don't have bias ply tires though.

A u-joint does not usually only vibrate on acceleration contrary to what the other poster said. Your chirping noise might also be the same ujoint as well. Typically, ujoints squeak or make a rotational chirping noise at slower speeds, many times when under opposite load as usual, like when in reverse. Does the vibration seem to get slightly worse when decelerating? Does it seem like a very fast vibration where it almost turns into a humming noise at higher speeds? Sorry for the grammatical errors, I'm on my phone.

Ah, I just had a rear U-joint go bad and it vibrated so badly that it turned into a humming noise. It was also associated with a rotational chirping noise.

mine had a chirping squeaking noise from the drivers area and found out it is the drivers seat bolt the front left one nut actually had broke free from the surrounding area not sure if that is your issue but it was driving me crazy until i found it

Exactly right, when my U joint when bad it chirped like a bird, it was the oddest noise

Your wink scares the **** out of me. I would point to your U-joint if I were local.

Change it out! You could oil it first to see how it changes in sounds. If nothing sounds different, give it a tug and see how it sounds. Things get squirrely when the U-joint gives out..

I meant you should notice the vibration more when accelerating/decelerating as opposed to cruising.
