Order (8) 90080-10066 bolts, apply a dab of blue loctite and torque them properly

Use a new cotter pin and try to get the castle nut torqued down to align with the hole in the ball joint when tightening, avoid loosening the nut to get the cotter pin through

Alignment not needed after unless you changed something else in the process

Octane, not trying to correct you. I just don't want to make the same mistake twice. I have an 01 SR5. The LBJ set I ordered came with the #90119-10933 bolts. They have a lower tensile strength and should only be torqued to 37 ft-lbf right?

The 90080-10066 are for 96-2000 models If I'm not mistaken.

Let's hope this doesn't go 3 pages otherwise I'm afraid my next post will be a LBJ failure.
 
They have the same strength. It is bolt head design that dictates the different torque value - and they should have equivalent clamping force when done.

1996-2000 use a flanged bolt Part #90080-10066
2001-2002 use a bolt and washer (it's a little longer than the bolts for 96-00) Part #90119-10933

If it were me, I'd use the earlier flanged bolts, a dab of Loctite and torque to 59ft/lb.

I used quite a bit more than a dab… any downside to this? (Other than making it harder to break free later?)

You can use as much as you want, but the more you lube the bolt, loctite acts like live when wet, the more you reduce friction, increase clamping force and potentially stretch the bolt by over torquing it. Most torque specs are based on dry fasteners unless indicated otherwise.

LBJ failures do not occur from the mounting bolts snapping or working themselves loose. The loctite just provides extra insurance/peace of mind.
