LBL(Land Between the Lakes)

Do any of you fellows ever do any off roading in LBL? I'm close enough to the area I visit frequent it for bike rides but this Sunday I'll take my first "off road" adventure there in my 4runner. Well kinda, mostly the gravel roads because turkey season starts and most of it is closed. Turkey Bay is still closed too I think. Do any of y'all ever get out there? I know some peeps from TN go a lot and obviously KY people. I'd like to know the easy, safe stuff. My 4runner is just lifter in the front with the budget boost and AT tires. Not looking for anything crazy.

Had an experienced guy from work play tour guide around LBL for myself and another off-road newb Sunday. He was very tender and gentle. Here's a few pics.

I am in Franklin, Ky and was just there a couple of weeks ago. Let me know when you want to go ride. I just got some GY Duratracs and dying to test them out.
 
I'm balls deep in a kitchen renovation, and I have a trip planned for NC July 4th weekend so it'll probably be at least a month for me before I could go back. I'm ready to get back out there too.

I saw your post on expedition portal, that was me in some of those pics. Hopefully you can make it out next time. Me and the OP of that thread are going to NC over July 4 weekend so it'll probably be a few weeks before we get dirty in LBL again.

Okay I thought it was now that I thought about it. Sounds good man. Just let me know. Let me know how that trip to NC goes. What part of NC are you going to?
 
Brevard, I'm wanting to mountain bike the trails in Pisgah National Forest and there's lots of waterfalls to hike to. Me and the little lady are quite excited about it.

It was on the west side of 206. Just a little trail that led back to a point. My buddy who is from Dover led the way. Great spot.
 
That does look like a great spot. Without me having to pull out my map, where about is 206? There's an expo meet at Energy Lake campground this weekend, if anyone is interested? Supposed to rain so I'm not sure we'll get the mountain bikes out.

Turkey Bay this weekend (9-19-2015)

Y'all are invited to go out to LBL with me, my dad, and two other guys from the 3rd gen 4Runner Mafia this weekend. We're going to try and get out there around 10ish Saturday morning and ride into the late afternoon. Sometime (Late afternoon Saturday or Sunday morning), me and my dad will be mountain biking on the N/S trail and/or the Canal Loop. We're also going to be camping at Hillman Ferry in the primitive/ water only section. I'm posting this in a few other threads to spread the word. PM me or mention me in a post if you want to join!

I have to work Saturday so I won't be able to join. The dual sport bikes had their yearly thing on the NS trail last weekend so I would recommend riding that. It really helps that trails having the big motor bikes on it, it'll be sweet this weekend. Havea good time!
 
My buddy has created an event on the weekend of October 9-11 over on ExpeditionPortal. Camping at Energy Lake campground in LBL, all of y'all are welcome to join. It's nothing too official or fancy, just grab a camp spot and ride some trails with us.

Me and my dad are going. We met cruiserbent up at LBL while biking and he invited us. We'll see ya there!
