LC Engeneering Tundra Brake Upgrade kit

While browsing through my back issues of Toyota 4wd owners magazine, I saw an advertisement for this setup by LC engineering for their tundra brake kit.
It comes with slotted rotors and SS brake lines for front and rear. It says its for a Tacoma but i would assume it fits our trucks as well.

I was going to use OEM calipers and rotors as BFAD suggests in his post about the TBU

Questions i had were...
Has anyone run this kit before?

Do you think that the calipers are Toyota units? or re-man?

Are the slotted rotors an upgrade to OEM rotors?

I'm looking to do the TBU in the next few weeks and this set-up looks really good for the price and LC engineering is a solid company.

I would like to hear what everyone has to say...

LC Engineering slots and cross drills all of the brake rotors at our facility in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Our full CNC department produces over 250 sets of cross drilled rotors per year. We start with an OEM replacement rotor, then run it through our exclusive computer-controlled drilling and slotting process.

The calipers in that kit are the S13WE's, and "OEM Replacement" rotors (probably brembos) that are cross drilled & slotted in house.

I would call LCE to see if the calipers are OEM new or remans, but for the price they are asking, my money would be on remans.

That's a good kit, and would be a substantial braking upgrade. It's basically just the 199mm TBU with bells and whistles (fancy rotors & hard lines).

BTW, if you're wondering how I could tell that they are the S13WE's (199mm) calipers, it's because they have the little ears on the top center of the caliper (as seen below).... 13WL (231mm) calipers don't have those ears.

I like the rear disk conversion kit for the Tacoma; I wonder if it would work for the 4runner.

With OEM calipers that kit is higher than the asking price. I'd paint them before putting them on.

Also it is stamped into the side of the Caliper. right there in the shinny part. LOL just saying

My comment was regarding how I was able to tell what calipers are in the picture on LCE's website. Go check it out. It's a tiny picture and it's hard to tell what calipers you're looking at.

Just go to NAPA or whatever and buy your calipers there, get the high end rotors from NAPA as well... and your pads at Toyota.

BTW do the 13WL calipers fit with FJZ80 wheels with 1" spacers?

Seems pricey! You don't need the steel brake lines. I paid $100 for mine with decent pads out the door from a junkyard with OEM rotors. And then $60 for Wagner ThermoQuiets.
