Welcome! For the rear you will need the LC coils and new shocks. Many people go with the stock LC shocks or the Tokico Trekmaster GE4095 shocks to match the LC coils. For the front we recommend not getting a spacer as they will produce a worse ride and shouldn't be paired with already worn front coils. Search for Tundra TRD lift, which is a cheap lift up front. No matter what you will NOT be able to level out your 4runner with the LC in the back, without running into some issues.

You should replace your shocks if you are going to put a spacer in the front. Other than that you might want to look into a diff drop granted you are 4wd and a panhard bar drop or adjustable panhard bar is optional.

You sure like to post in lift threads a lot, haha.

When is that revised lift sticky gonna be done??

Haha, I just hate seeing threads get skipped over because the question has been asked a million times.

I haven't got much progress. I was swamped with work and family stuff over the holidays so not much time to work on it. I've been procrastinating finishing the Tundra thread. I might have to finish that soon. I only have about an hour each night to be on my computer so sometimes I just want to space. I'm hoping to get it going in the next couple of weeks.

I've been looking over lift stuff a lot lately myself; since it's being revisited, I thought I would bring up something I am a bit baffled by...

I don't see how a small, top-mounted spacer lift is going to have a negative affect on the truck, no differently than longer springs would anyway. It doesn't change the spring positioning relative to the shock (or leave it in a over-compressed state) and if the lift is less than the recommended 2.5" or whatever, then CV angles should be fine. As far as the CV and lower control arm is concerned, it'd be no different than the same lift achieved with taller springs...

The only difference the spring should "see" is a higher center of gravity (more rotational force), but I can't imagine this really has much of an impact unless you're taking off your sway bars or something - it's a pretty rigid system. If you're pairing a spacer with badly worn springs, a higher center of gravity on a wobbly vehicle is going to make handling more unsafe... but I don't see how a spacer would wear the springs any differently, front or rear.

On the positive side, it allows you to use a spring/damper that was designed specifically for the truck.

Please tell me how I'm mistaken!

That's fine if you are going with a TOP mount spacer. The revtek and daystar spacers are NOT top mount. They go below the top plate and preload the spring. This decreases the ride quality as the spring is always compressed and provides less travel.

A top mount spacer could hurt your CV's though. It increases the down travel of your wheel and can over extend the CV. Spacers aren't the devil, but for $200 you can get 5100's and not deal with spacers at all.

Hey

Thank you for your input as I said in the first post I have looked and did not see parts specific thread lots of info in general on LC lifts. Now I have the info needed to proceed I will go with the TRD option up front. Will post pictures when done. Thanks again for your input and knowledge

Good choice. I like my Tundra lift and if you want to spend a little more the Tundra 5100's with the Tundra coils are awesome.

Spacers. I'm not a fan of them.
Top Out spacers, as said, can overextend the CVs when a wheel is drooped.

The type of spacer that mounts inside the coil/shock package does not preload the coil. It just extends the shock more at normal ride height. The adjustable spring perch clip type 5100 does the exact same thing. They both change the distance between the stock spring mounts/perches causing the spring to lift the vehicle. Longer/stiffer coils lift the vehicle due to the longer length/strength. Longer coils will typically ride better than a short coil.

My lift? Yeah but I don't have LC coils. I do have the Tundra lift up front though.

You can check out Fightman80's build thread as he has the tundra's up front and 8 wraps in the back.

I'm also on 8 wraps and the same Bilstein TRD setup as SCRunner. Check out my build in my link for pics.

Don't know if this will help or not, but here is a pick of my truck.
I have the Sonoran Steel 1.2A rear kit with LC coils. not sure how many wraps though. I didn't really pay attention when I installed it. And TC long travel up front.

Oh, and 285/75/16 KM2

I believe those won't work....and need the TRD Springs from a 2000 - 2004 Access Cab 4WD.....

This is my setup:

LC 8 Wraps in the rear with SkyJacker shocks (I recommend getting the LC shocks though), Home built Panhard drop bracket, Complete Strut assemblies (with 4Runner Top plates), from a 2000 Tundra TRD Access Cab 4X4 with a Toytec Top plate spacer and Toytec Diff Drop.
