Leaf spring flip

I have a 1984 4runner. The previous owner installed 4 inch lift blocks in the rear and 1.5 inch shackle lift up front with 35x15.50 Mickey claws. Obviously the front rubs... I want a 4 inch lift but at the moment don't have the cash. I noticed the front leafs are arched upwards. Would it be logical to take them apart and flip it so the arch is down, just as a temporary fix. I have seen this done to lower cars and trucks but am not sure of lifting it. Any input is greatly appreciated.

The negative arch is due to age, they are worn out.
But they had almost no arch when new.
You're idea is intriguing, the downside might be a fatigue crack at the eye at some point down the road. But then this should only be a temporary thing anyway.
Try it and let us know how it goes.

unless you leave the main spring upright then change in the spring eye will offset any lift you would receive. Also I agree that you would loose a spring from fatigue fairly quickly. I would suggest taking your rears and move them to the front. It will move your axle forward about an 1 and a half and produce about 4 inches of lift. then hit the junkyard and find a set of mid 90's f150 rear springs for cheep and install them on the rear. you will need to move your front mount forward ( I don't remember how much but i think about 5 inches) and use a longer rear shackle you will love the ride and clear 35 easily. Also should be able to do it for under 100 bucks. Good luck
