Leak in front driver side interior fottwell

Good afternoon. I have a 2015 trail edition 127k with sunroof . I have noticed lately that if I leave vehicle outside and I get a rain and sun cycle I get heavy condensation on the inside windows. I have noticed wet carpet on the drivers side foot area. Took it to a auto glass shop and windshield is fine and the sunroof drains are functioning. I was involved in a pretty major MVA in 2020 which drivers side front took a beating. Could a drain hose for the sunroof be busted or could it be an AC drain issue? My vehicle is normally parked covered but since I now have a job where I am parked outside weeks at a time I have just noticed this issue. Any help would be appreciated. And yes I do hate sunroofs but I like the features of the trail edition.

I couldn't find much info about where the 5th Gen sunroof drains come out. I knew they came down the A pillars and somehow out the rear (Just like the 4th gens, there's one run through the tool area in the rear). My sunroof was holding water so I knew I had a clogged drain. Turns out it was 1 of 4 that was clogged the others seem to drain out of the pinch welds with no access to the "exit end" - Toyota this seems like a horrible idea.

My Front Driver drain was the one that was giving me issues so I spent a while trying to track it down. I had tried the weedeater string, and even a coated braided steel cable. It seemed to run the same length down each side before bottoming out so I wasn't sure what was causing the clog.

Once I stripped away some of the panels and electronics I pulled the hose out to find the small "filter plug" on the bottom. This is what was causing my tools to bottom out, and it's also what was causing the clog. Mine was packed full of debris. Figured I'd share a photo in case anyone else is having a problem tracking them down.

once you solve the leak issue you will need to address the wet carpet. the jute backing on the bottom of the carpet is like a sponge, it will absorb water and mold unless dried (or removed). I would suggest unclipping that carpet on the drivers side and lifting it up to assess what's underneath. you can try and dry the jute backing but it will take a while if it's soaked. you could also just remove it - it pulls off easily. then you can easily dry the floor boards and top of the carpet. give the floor and backside of the carpet a spray with concrobium mold control and reassemble

I think it's dependent on where you park your truck and how often you use the sunroof. I've never cleaned any sunroof drains in my 2012 4runner or 2010 lexus. but I also don't open my sunroof often (ever). it's leaves and debris that will get stuck in there. I still make a point every couple of years to open it up, grease the tracks and pour water down the 4 drains to make sure everything is in good order. takes only a few minutes while you're washing the vehicle

that wet carpet is going to be your biggest challenge if you can find that leak. if you don't take care of it correctly it will smell and mold every time it's damp and hot out
