leaking 3rd gen rear diff

Anyone out there ever seen the rear diff leak from the casing? I noticed an oil puddle under my rear end a few days before I left out of town. I did crawl under there and look. It appears to be leaking from the housing somewhere below the breather. It is not coming from the breather or the gasket. I do not have any rust spots.
I am out of town working and have left the truck with my girlfriend with instructions to look under there every few days and listen for rear end noise.
I was just wondering if there may be a recall on 3rd gen diffs. Thanks.

You might want to check the fluid level and bring it back to within 1/4" of the fill hole. Waiting for "rear end noise" would be too late as the bearings & gearset would have to be replaced due to lubricant starvation.
