Leaking bushings

I recently installed a small lift on my '10 SR5 & alignment a month ago and got some leaking going on these parts :





Anyone know what I should upgrade both my rear sway bar end links & both my front tie rod end bushings to since later, I plan on upgrading all 4 coils to get a full 3" lift

Did you remove the tie rod ends when you installed your suspension?

I don't know if they were removed or not, a shop did the install

Wonder if they used a pickle fork instead of a balljoint separator...

Yea because both driver & passenger side outer tie rod end bushings are leaking. I don't know what I should upgrade them to

I know I was researching on here & I might try and upgrade the rear sway bar end links to the ones made by OP pearlj10 on here

I'm not sure if anything would be an upgrade to a Toyota oem tie rod end. This is most likely due to installed error not to a failure of the part.

Can you get some better pictures of the joints? They might just be oozing some grease which might be normal from being pulled off and reinstalled.

But that one picture almost looks like the boot is twisted/torn.

The tie rods should be fine regardless of lift (unless you're doing something like long travel). The rear links could be extended if you are running closer to the 3" lift mark, I think a couple members on the forums sell extended links.

Those tierods just look like they are seeping some grease from being reinstalled so they should be good. It's not a perfect seal so grease will spurt out a bit over time.

Ok thanks that's kinda a relief to hear as I thought maybe it was gonna become something serious like the 3rd gen 4Runners lower ball joint failures... I'm also planning to go a little higher on the lift later, would I need to worry about those tie rods after going for a 3" lift?

I don't have the same rig, but those are not "normal" leaking. Those boots are designed to hold good clean grease in for 5-10k miles. I would say due to the new angle they are not sealing at all. Those are not leaking they are not even working. Personally not acceptable as they need grease and decently clean grease. Not in a 10k miles but you will probably have issues in 20-30K. To each his own, but no way would I accept that on a rig as new as yours.

Taking a second look at this and, from the looks of the nut on the tie rod end, it doesn't really appear that it's been removed recently. How many miles are you at? It may just be time to replace those rod ends which is a relatively easy and standard job cause they do wear out over time. If there's any play in the steering that would be another indicator of worn rod ends.

PS. It'd be awesome if you could post pics in the correct orientation, that would help us all out a lot. Mobile operating systems tend to rotate images for who knows what reason, but either way just a friendly piece of advice if you could watch for that.

That cotter pin and castle nut don't look like they were touched. But the other end by the locknut has definately been touched. Looks like it was extended by 1/4 to 3/8 inch. Did you have alignment done? In trying to free up the locknut they probably didn't put a wrench on tierod end and twisted it to the point of ripping the boot.
